Yeah they come with all the seals, edging rubber and brackets. The unpainted ones come with the seals cut to length and bracket holes drilled ready for you to bolt the brackets on and attach the seals after painting.

Hope they're going to be available for a while, as i haven't yet got a VXT, but have a feeling i'll be investing in one of these when i do.

Can you get the inside of these sprayed black with the outside being body-coloured for the same £600 price tag? I'm very interested in a Calypso Red one but i'm not keen on the red underside. Should I buy one, I would eventually intend to have it lined with Alcantera or similar but for the meantime i'd prefer it black on the inside. :gayfight: Also, are these units fairly sturdy as they seem a little flimsy in the 5th picture  Excellent work though Jonny, major credit for the time and effort you've put into this project thumbsup

Structurally I can't see how it will be any weaker than either the original Vauxhall ones or the other aftermarket items... Just makla it look a fair bit thinner without the lining. And the one I borrowed recently was more than strong enough.... Didn't you borrow Darren's recently? PS. If you had a Saturday or Sunday free (once purchased) you could always pop through to Durham and Annette and I could get a lining made up from the materials we have used for the soft top liners. ;)

I think it was Cranman who borrowed Darren's a few month's back, wasn't me

Do you reckon we could glue the lining on and have it follow the contours of the HT?

Yeah the construction is identical to the OEM hardtop down to the last detail. The guys that are making them pulled my OEM one apart to look inside it as there are some structural bits hidden inbetween the two skins. I think the OEM unlined ones have a darker coloured underside which will make them look a bit different. We could do the underside in matt black and you can have the top skin sprayed calypso no problem.

We could use just a single or double skin of fleece material and this would easily follow the contours of the hard top (from memory of the one I borrowed). a double skin may be a touch harder to shape, but would be less likely to show glue coming through.

Or the other option, as suggested by Jon, is to just have it painted Matt black inside.

I think it would be quite tricky. The OEM stuff is actually quite thin and is a adhesive backed foam which must be heated and stretched over. If you can do it let me know and we can offer the lining as an option.

I think getting it sprayed matt black on the inside (and Calypso Red on the outside) would certainly tide me over for the foreseeable future  Jonny, i'll work out my finances over the next few days and get in touch via PM thumbsup I should be fine as my CS2 remap has had to be rearranged for 5th January. The only worry is the christmas pressies i've recently ordered and my insurance payment of around £850 is due :drink:

I know that the fleece has enough flex in it to allow it to wrap around shapes well.... Getting it to stick is the trickiest bit to know how to do at this monent in time (without a demo surface and material to try my hand at... but I will pick some of the leftover material I have up this weekend (all being well) and I can have a tinker at possible solutions.

It is the insulaton material within the fleece pouch that has produced the thickness of the soft top liners.... the fleece itself is probably not much more than 1mm thick.

Met up with Jonny today to collect my Calypso red (with black underside) and to say I'm pleased with it is a major understatement! The fit and build quality are top notch and the paint job is spot on! Big thumbsup to Jonny for taking the time and effort to make these! Top bloke and a top item :) [just need to adjust my windows now as the passenger side has a good 3/4 inch gap ]

Il be interested to hear if you get that 3/4 inch, my ht was about 10mm max from my mates window on fitment and we couldn't even get that 10mm without it fouling the winding mech!
