At this time of year the sun is low in the sky and wonderfully bright, looks great, but horrible for driving and as I prefer to have my retinas intact, not to mention I find them useful for day to day tasks.

My question is can the Elise Parts Sun Visors fit the VX? The website says it won't but from the pics it looks like the could, and also are they any good as it says "It’s made from anti-glare polycarbonate and is “see through” so even on dark days, the road ahead is still visible." So I assume it's the same as the SunStrip along the top of the car?

Thought, opinions?

10/10 for your first sentence

That Elise-parts visor looks expensive for what it is. My Mother isn't a hairdresser but she did have an MX-5 and it had these for visors which are very good and could fit on a VX with a little fettling. I intend to buy these on the link so please do not outbid me... Thank you muchly >eBay<

Most sunstrips are external fitting, you'll find its the graduated ones that are meant for the inside of cars.

Mine is not graduated. ;)

Yours is either not 'most' sunstrips then or you've fitted it wrong :P

Mine is professionally fitted (not by me). It's not the same as the graduated strip that a lot of cars seem to have fitted.

Here is a close-up view of mine, for anyone who is interested.

Just cut some window tint on the outside of the car for a template and install it on the inside, doesn't affect the mot, I was told my old one was a grey area as it was see through.

That MX5 variant looks a good option if you can mount it well. I ordered some crappy black vinyl last night, as the screen needs something to stop the retina burn when the sun does beam through the clouds! It's the stuff that goes on the outside, which I'm fully expecting to look crap, but I'll give it a go.

Let us know how you go with the ebay MX5 parts.

I've got these sun visors. I haven't been brave enough to drill into the windscreen surround/frame to install them

If anyone wants thenm to have a go, yours for £12 posted. Which is what I paid.

Don't know what car they are from but have
SAE 1008-1010 on the bracket.

Ordered the Sun visor from ELise parts which has arrived today but is not as descibed on their web site. It's not see through, is smaller and not hinged Not impressed will ask for my money back. Will go for the sun strip option i think

Ok my MX5 visors are now on and look like they would be ideal for the job. Drilling the windscreen surround was a little precarious as it is effectively hollow. I will post some photos and a how to later thumbsup
