Turn the pram buggy thing around 180 degrees, put a little toy steering wheel thing in the front so he can pretend he's driving and you're good to go.

the pram will unclasp and turn to face towards and away from parent, is pos to turn round and still have pram wheel locked on the rack ps baby is a girl

The VX and babies just don't work for long IME. Baby can only go in a rear facing baby seat until they are about 10 months and that is the only type of seat that will fit in the VX. When you are carrying a precious little one around you do worry about the consequences of an accident and the lack of protection.

Love it! When you don't need the luggage rack anymore to put the pram on a nice tubby spoiler will cover the holes :D Good work that man thumbsup (runs off to show friend selling his VX because he's having a baby)

Are you sure he's messing about lads????? He sounds a little bit more serious than you'd hope? Tim? Is that a vote labour poster in your garden being reflected in the neighbours window? Depending on how he answers these questions he could make my list of ultimate über mongs. :D

WRONG

You can have the rear facing seat in there just fine. And you can EASILY/SAFELY fit a Maxi cosi Tobi and Priori in there for forward facing. The only issue is once they grow out of the stage 2 seat you cant have them in the car, so you might make 4 years tops. The reason you cant have them in a stage 3/4 seat is 99% of them are NOT crotch strapped meaning the child will submarine in an accident :( So you can have kids in a vx till they are 4ish and then again when they are 11.

For the record when we went car seat shopping the lady at the shop we goto (an independent) said that all the seats we tried were the best fit in any car shes ever seen.

My only issue is its fcuking noisy and come winter the heater will NEVER be good enough. Summers were fun though :) And she loved going to town with the roof off (I never had the roof off with her in the car if we were likely to exceed 30mph)

Look at the children section of the seloc wiki.

Depending on how he answers these questions he could make my list of ultimate über mongs. :D

Hes actually on my ignore list

It was available direct from the Vauxhall accessory range for the VX. But quite why anyone would want to put the necessary holes to secure the four feet in their rear clam, amazes me. Somebody on here at some point said they stopped selling them as they caused some cracks but think it's more likely they were abandoned when the tubby came out.

Edit: Actually, that looks different to the genuine version.

:yeahthat:

I wouldn't want to stick holes in my clam. Is it an option to look at getting a cheap shed Tim?

And looking at the picture of the pram on the car, I suspect you may be gaining the attention of the local constabulary on a regular basis.

GiGo what the hell? This is the most dangerous mod I've ever seen. I would rather take my chances on stage 4 in the wet than this!

For starters the rear view is completely blocked and at any kind of speed the drag on that buggy is going to rip those retaining bolts right through the fibreglass! But these things pale in comparison to the fact that you've got a cloth item sitting on top of the engine vents so your view will mainly be restricted by the fire :flame:

If that isn't enough, it looks ridiculous! :beat:

Will be honest didn't think about the points you have raised but....

1) Rear view is crap anyway, you don't really need to see right behind you, wing mirros do the trick thumbsup
2) If you re-inforce the clam aound the areas you might be good up to 30/40mph? thumbsup
3) Um.... tough one, but.... if you remove the coth/buggy/wear baby sits bit and put it in the boot, then risk of fire is greatly reduced.

    DOB is not real...

Posted 17 January 2011 - 04:11 PM

I found that my young childs neck could not take 1 g... If I held his head for him he could take 1 g, but driving with one hand on the steering wheel at those forces was not really that safe. As suggested on here, duct tape around the seat back and forhead, allowing you to drive with two hands is the only truely safe way.... But the looks you get from other motorists takes the fun out of it.. BTW My forward facing seat fits fine.
