As suggested on here, duct tape around the seat back and forhead, allowing you to drive with two hands is the only truely safe way.... But the looks you get from other motorists takes the fun out of it..

1 picture of that online, and you would probably get more attention then you ever bargened for.

You could always try it out on the Mrs first.

The VX and babies just don't work for long IME. Baby can only go in a rear facing baby seat until they are about 10 months and that is the only type of seat that will fit in the VX.

WRONG

You can have the rear facing seat in there just fine. And you can EASILY/SAFELY fit a Maxi cosi Tobi and Priori in there for forward facing. The only issue is once they grow out of the stage 2 seat you cant have them in the car, so you might make 4 years tops. The reason you cant have them in a stage 3/4 seat is 99% of them are NOT crotch strapped meaning the child will submarine in an accident :( So you can have kids in a vx till they are 4ish and then again when they are 11.

For the record when we went car seat shopping the lady at the shop we goto (an independent) said that all the seats we tried were the best fit in any car shes ever seen.

My only issue is its fcuking noisy and come winter the heater will NEVER be good enough. Summers were fun though :) And she loved going to town with the roof off (I never had the roof off with her in the car if we were likely to exceed 30mph)

Look at the children section of the seloc wiki.

Pretty much spot on.

Never took either of mine out in a rear facing seat. Had a indi in MK fit the stage 2 seat forward facing seat and it fits a treat. Ben still uses it in the VX and is near 6 (Tom 4) - he is pretty much tallest in his class and is prob on the 25 kg weight limit.

Regarding safety - ffs, i was driving around with them in my 11 year old rover 214 shed and no body batted a eye lid. The chassis/door bars are a seriously strong bit of kit. I used to put the roof up if we were going on the motorway, but only to stop the whining!
:yeahthat: I wouldn't want to stick holes in my clam. Is it an option to look at getting a cheap shed Tim? And looking at the picture of the pram on the car, I suspect you may be gaining the attention of the local constabulary on a regular basis.
As i won't sell the vx220 i will let you now if i get pulled over

I have been thinking about all the thing's that have been said and , then realised that i may not need the pram as the car-seat ( carrycot ) clips to the ,pram ,push chair frame ( the wheel's ). so would just need to put the wheel,s/ frame thing on the outside of car ,plus no wind drag ,
Don't know if a baby can stay in a carrycot (car-seat) for long time . IE when i visit my mum ,or will i need a cot at my mum,s :beat: . As i intended to use pram at mums so baby can lay down , when i visit

You are scaring me now.....

Wat i mean is not to take the pram on the car ,but just the pram frame ,as the carseat fit's on to the pram frame , so can push the carseat about chinky chinky ,If you don't know wot i mean ask a mother that has a 9 in one pram set up ( mamas and papas ) pram as all the parts fit on the base chinky chinky
