I do like the seemingly constant split of opinions of Top Gear so far this series which seem to vary from week to week.

I think the issue is not really with the content, more that the concept is pretty much now on its arse.

The concept of a motoring show?

Not motoring show concept, but the TopGear variant:
  • Introduction, Featured Car (+Stig Lap), News, Guest, Comedy Act.
I have watched TopGear for as long a I can remember, but I honestly think that their format is due another overhaul.

What I think I would like to see is them have a series of cars at the TopGear HQ for a weekend shoot-out of a real variety of cars. Say Hot hatches, Coupes, Saloons, Sportscars, Trackday specials, Supercars and Hypercars.

I reckon there could easily be a 2hr (or 2x 1hr) episode (possible 2 x 2hr episodes) where they could take you through the car market. There would naturally be some comedy gold, as someone fcuked up, but actually provide a little more of an elightened programming.

Unfortunately I am waiting for another camping episode where some catastrophe occurs. I adore the 'specials', but more for them getting down and dirty with the cars and highlighting interesting places to go and just drive.

Gotcha. I still enjoy the format. BUt I can see your point. I think they could change it but not lose the essence that is top gear. Here's a suggestion. Lets get a mob of .Orgers host a show thumbsup

What, and end up with a load of grown men dressed up in drag shoving vegetables up each others crevices ?

I think I prefer it as it is now.

Gonna watch this when I get back from the supermarket. Ah house husbandry.......

Any more stories from Asda?

I am numb to that place now. I wish I could parade the people who go in there on this site. Just amazing. Lots of incredibly obese people in little buggies. Like my own little Florida

the shelby mustang was horrible in every sense of the word.

I disagree. I think it looks good, and the power, how can you not like that ?

I actually am of the same opinion on the Shelby Mustang as Clarkson, I think it's a very likeable car for the reasons above, and the history. I'd never buy one, but I do like them.

Each to their own I guess. History itself and a bucket full of power isn't enough in my book! (Hence NA vauxhall ! )

I think my g/f hit the nail on the head as she came down stairs halfway through the show and said 'is this another repeat?' followed by 'it all looks the bloody same' Yes to her a car is just a car but I think I'm very much feeling how (it seems) quite afew on here do. The show is in massive need for an overhaul. I did enjoy some of it but it needs something new for a while to stop being a repeat with a different car. The Wembley to Milan was ok but why the hell they thought a Mustang would be interesting was beyond me. It's not exactly new and a bit late for a hats off to Mr Shelby.

My wife came down the stairs and said "haven't you seen this one before?". Getting tired.

No. It's been too cold lately. Cold track will put him 0.8 seconds behind....

It its not rigged (for a change).

Either way it will be an interesting interview.

Minimal real difference, but they do look ace when driving doing their little dance. Underbody aero and general body aero, plus silly silly grip :)
