Speak to TMS and see if they'll re-remap it with a more current/improved map at a discount? But, really would be worth your time and money making the trek to Courtenay or MMG for best results, if you think the map is the issue.

That is good news AstraVXR, glad to hear it is nothing serious. As others have said, get it to Liam or Jon and get it remapped, will answer a lot of questions. I told you that rear passenger wheel sensor would make a difference. Keep us updated.

I never said the sensor would make it faster, just sort out the speedo and idling issues. Do you have an alloy intake pipe?

It may be worth investigating the air pipe to the turbo as they have been known to partially or completely collapse internally thus restricting air intake into the engine. This is not usually apparent from outside inspection and will need pulling off. The Alloy intake pipe is a worthwhile upgrade.

Even funnier when that comment comes from Ian!

My map was one of the original TMS NA maps and although it overfuels like buggery, it revs fairly well. thumbsup thumbsdown

As said before , mine is exactly the same as yours spec wise and I would say third is my best gear pulls very well, but ofc this is all relative, without being in yours its hard to say I find 1st gear almost un-usable in anger its so short, normally i would short shift to 2nd before putting my foot down and 3rd gear defiantly doesn't feel flat shame you are not a bit nearer as a drive in mine would tell you a lot about how yours is performing in terms of where it should be

Hi james Dan is a good lad but is a lotus specialist and does not have superman GM engine technician skills like courtenay or mmg. Take it to one of these places and let them play with it would be my bet...now K series , yota lumps or handling and that's a different ball game... Saying that dan fixed my boost problem, did my cambel/tensioners/waterpumpt, altenator and fitted nitrons , set up handling etc..so he is a very useful and respected grease monkey.alsi ith a degree in electronic engineering iirc...also fitted a new horn while i think about it too....good degree that!

Well been to SPS and dan has fitted two new engine mounts. Car drives a lot better and smoother now and seems to have a better kick back. I've noticed a noise afterwards driving home, in first and second gear driving slowly i can hear a knocking noise and i can feel it through the steering wheel... i think its coming from the front but could be wrong. Any ideas?

The knocking seems to have stopped, maybe just the engine mounts settling in?

They dont settle in, they work or dont work.

May I suggest you record the sound its making, as (no offence) your descriptions of noises/faults are utter sh**.

Doesnt seem to do it anymore but i will record if i can if it does it again. Im sorry if my descriptions are shite. Basically all that happens is knocking noise which i can hear and feel through the steering wheel when driving slow in first and second gear. Hopefuly it doesnt do it again, it hasnt since sat
