thank you for clearing all that up nev and duncan. last night i finally went and bought my self another car for the winter a 306 diesel for the fuel economy to help me save over the winter and as you gus no a vx220 is not a winter car at all. so all this will get done bit by bit. well as you say i might well get some rods and a inlet manifold at the end of the day its all going to save me money in the long run after all. Also this project will be gettin done over the next 6 months or so, so i have plenty of time to buy these parts or wait for them to come up second hand at a good price but i do also realise that a chargecooler (capable of that power), a 3inch exhaust and a inlet manifold aint the most common of things to come up for sale.

Dunc, whats the solution? Get a welder to fabricate a special part up? Or is there an off the shelf engine you/anyone can get to fix the VX220 ?

Are you talking about the gearbox mount? If so you need the mount from the europa

its got 19k on it i got shown the clocks out of the vxr which he broke with it in before he put it in to his mk4 astra. m32 is now sold guy collecting tomorrow. i paid 2k with m32 etc so by the time iv sold turbo off it and gearbox and my engine i should be not too far off evens :D which is why i did it tbh.

Tell Jay to fabricate it symetrically, otherwise he will offset it to one side (unncessairly) becuase he will think you have an aircon unit ! Make sure you get 4 high tensile bolts and k-nuts for the GT3 flange (dont bother with a gasket BTW). You need to take special care to stop the k-nuts from undoing themselves due to the range of vibration frequencies. Talk to SteveBoySlim (on here or MigWeb) if you want an ARP head bolt kit. Have u decided on your exact turbo spec? When you do I can probably get it for you with a bit of a discount. You'd need to give me the ATP Turbo part numbers, as I order it direct from the USA and ATP are the biggest turbo suppliers on the planet. Delivery to UK is < 1 week. Pip pip, keep us informed :) Nev.

Not much at the moment still decide g on a turbo had a really long talk with Mark from courtenay yesterday or sorted out my spec and I have purchased all my rebuild parts from those guys now and might be goin for them for there stage 6 tune once it's built. So shud have the rebuild bits this week so once they arrive I have then got the steel rods and parts to rebuild so will start stripping then. Also just confussed on what cams to go for as Im not getting pistons machined just going for 1.9mm head gasket from courtenay. So ideally need some cams which won't require bigger pockets in the pistons of which courtenay have they can get me for £600 and they have said standard valve springs will also be fine with there cams and going to get the head gas flowed to give it abit better flow And that's about all at the moment also will be taking the engine out this week if I get chance took the week off to do it but my other half has chopped the end of her thumb off so need to tend to her and take her to hospital a few times in the week so fingers crossed it will be done this week and going to get myself a engine crane and stand this week
