every car is different, you need to check fueling, ignition, etc etc running a base map is not ideal p.s. are you still in time attack?

What intake temps should you be seeing on a long straight on a warm day whilst on track?

Mine hit 75 at snett. Never done that before and cant seem to get it to do it since even on my private roads round MK. 40 max used to be the norm.

Anything under 75c and you should not see any loss in power if thats what your asking?

Tentatively bumping this as I got a vxr intercooler for a reasonable price. Rated from the factory to 2bar. Going to fit it and see what the local turnips can do with regards to mapping if it isn't right I guess I'll be going on a short holiday across the water!

For the record, I'm afriad this isn't quite correct. On Klassens VXT stage 4 (and above) maps he starts to retard ignition from 50 degrees centigrade. I know this because I have the full metrics print out/dump sheet that shows all the info that normal punters aren't interested in and I can see where the ECU pulls the ignition immediately on ICT > 50. Also I have discussed this with Mark Watts who confirmed this.

In my case, I lost approx 15 BHP at 55 degrees and I suspect the ignition would be retarded further still (with commesurate power losses) if the ACTs were to rise further.

HTH clear up that point, as it is a crux issue on any charged car (SC cars may be setup with a different threshold BTW). IMO anyone fitting a CC should really make an effort to put a big one in; i.e. a big radiator and big exchange matrix. If you don't the map will (rightly) protect your engine, the by-product being a loss of power :/

I have my old CMS stage 4 ECU (and the other bits) if that's any use - just buy that and save your self a trip? £100 ?
