You mean a decent side intake one, I was with Dave on Sunday and this along with the custom exhaust manifold was a lage topic of conversation driving back from the RR. And as its going on my standalone package we can do back to back testing as it's the only real way to demonstrate what advantage it gives over stock and maybe other products out there ;)

Will update this on a sepertate thread when there are more pics than the current cut up state

DG

Oh and Dave has kindley put together a fantastic guide for building the box if your very diy keen and wanted to save a few pounds

Any picture where the external recirc would be more visible? Don't see where it is plugged?

I never took any but there is a T piece on the 1st section or straight from the TB silicon hose to c/c the recirc sits on top and outlet straight to the bulkhead under fuel filler neck then 90deg left to under the metal 80mm intake pipe via another 90deg connection into the pipe just before the reducing silicon elbox hope that makes some sense :D plan was to keep it looking oe and out of sight also ;) DG

Well it has been a week since Duncan kit was fitted and there is definitely a huge inprovement in the way the car drives and respones the turbo stall / clatter is nearly gone. When it does kick in it is just for a few seconds so very happy with the results and would highly recommend the kit. Rossco i am away till Mid May will sort out a pax ride when back. And the most in inportant test off all was done my wife has drove it a few times and is happy with it. So good job all round by Duncan he is selling something that actually works and if you happen to get more power as well it a bargain

Thanks for the feeback Tom. Appart from the external recirc, is there a need for the other parts of the kit to address the turbo chatter?

Very simple way to remove turbo 'chatter'... don't ask the turbo to hit unrealistic boost targets! Its a mapping issue, not a hardware issue.

I dont map vx's so cant comment on what or how big tuners set them up, certainly my standalone does not suffer fron it. But the kit works and had another kit fitted yesterday and just been on the same rollers he went o the week before with no other mods. Will let him reply later or tomorrow with results ;-) DG

How much are these kits then. Have you got a break up of costs if someone just wants the airbox?

Well DG dropped the intake kit, Airbox, and all hoses ect round to me last night and got it fitted :)

First impressions as always were just how well made and thought out it all was, I think DG said he and Dave had put something like 70 hours into developing it - it shows!

I used the exact same air filter out of my 'OE' air box straight into the DG / Dave Hardwick Intake so it's the same one as used on the RR last Sunday.

The ONLY changes to the car are the DG / Dave Hardwick Airbox & Intake NOTHING else, same fuel, same filter, same everything.

Drove up to see Chris in Runcorn tonight as obviously the same RR had to be used and during the 90 mile drive up my arse dyno definatly felt the car quicker, more responsive and generally felt more eager to both rev and spool up, about 4500rpm it was much more responsive,

The induction noise was still there but no where near as pronounced, sounds like induction now not a dump valve, quite missed that actually, but its a bit less 'chav' and the car is ballistic so all good :)

Chris strapped the car onto the dyno and pulled up the file from last Sunday, he did 4 runs and overlaid them onto last Sundays run to check everything matched and corresponded, the transmission losses were set at 15% on both occasions.

the 'top' line lines are todays run, the 'bottom' line is last Sunday,

The car has gained 18bhp/20ft lb @ 5250rpm :)

It holds more power and torque from 4300rpm to limiter

Chris's comments on looking at the graphs (and he dyno'd it 4 times today with apart from the 1st run where it jumped on the rollers the results were all exactly the same) were that he could really see the engine breathing easier about 4300rpm, the APF & boost chart shows the car tun slightly leaner from 4300 - limiter (for the better!) as a result of the extra air being sucked in. Also it corresponds with holding extra boost till the limiter as a result as well.

So the kit works. And works very very well, better than anything developed for the car before.

On an already 'quick' stage 4 the modifications have gained real extra power & torque and above 4500rpm very noticeable.

Well done both DG and Dave Hardwick for a superbly designed and finished product which I'm sure is going to prove very popular indeed, and I'd guess for 18bhp there will be a few people having a crack at DIY following Dave's guide!

Also many many thanks to Chris @ EFI Parts for all his time and methodical approach on the rollers, top guy and even at 7.30 on a Saturday night he's still studying the graphs making sure its good & honest!! thumbsup

Thanks for the feedback Simon, and really good to see the improvement over an already upgraded intake, had modded airbox, 80mm amm and 70mm pro alloy kit. DG
