Is there any merit in gatting a remap after installation (ie. would this allow the setup to be optimised) - just planning ahead!

Only to make the most of your CC!! ;)
Seriously, I doubt it's worth a remap though squire.

Wouldn't have though so, on mine it actually improved the AFR above 4500rpm and now runs not quite so rich as it's able to suck in the air it requires that was being restricted before, also as a result of this the car holds more boost, which equals more power, through to the limiter, where as before at 5000rpm power started to drop, all of this was on the same map as before the intake kit was fitted. thumbsup

Dunc, would there be any benefit to someone using the OEM exhaust or with just the precat removed? (In other words, moi :D )

There will be an improvement on all setups but the amount will be dictated by other hardware and the software on the ecu, as stated most of the improvement will not require any changes to the map but there could be a touch more with a fine retune. DG

I have two recircs in my current setup dunc... Would see drivability gains (smoother and less chatter on part throttle) with just the airbox do u reckon? If so I will take one :)

Completed a back to back test on a Peter's beastie VX220 VXR

Peak power increase was 10bhp as you can see and holds it for a good 2000rpm at the top end and although peak torque was only up 1 you can also see that short of 4250-5000ish it makes more power and torque across the range in different levels

What was interesting is on the large cone filter / 80mm outlet / 70mm pipework to turbo the boost control by the oem ecu was all over the place and took 5 runs to get a consistant 3 power runs to get the best baseline. With the new kit on all 5 runs were almost identical in boost curve and the power was within 1bhp clearly it is now holding a touch more boost also as a result of the better breathing and all in all a beast of a car :)

As not many people go to the trouble of a proper back to back test I thought I would share the data and as most know Chris & I have no means to map the oem ECU and the only changes was the intake, even the recirc was the same. All done on the same day, fuel etc etc

Oh and this was on the oem paper filter so perfect filtration ;)

Before
371bhp
355ft/lb

After
381bhp
356ft/lb

Again these rollers dont do well for pub talk and seem to be reading about 10bhp less than the other major ones for reference

Good work! :) 10bhp more on an already highly tuned car shows the benifit of the intake kit thumbsup Great result there!

The kit uses the 80mm MAF or a true 80mm bore alloy MAF housing. If on standalone a MAF is not required and the alloy pipe can be made longer to join straight to the airbox. Dave

Yet to be tested, maybe a sc intake show down required ;-)

Been asked by a few if I can provide the intake part on its own. Should be no issue Still the only kit to be rr proven to increase power even over cone and pa intake pipe upgrade kit along with other setups Pipe is 83mm and true internal 80mm DG
