Are you only getting a P1516 or are you getting a 5volt reference error to?

If you have an EGR cheater take that out I was having similar problems and it turned out to be the EGR cheater giving up the ghost, although my throttle body was still going through its start up sequence.

Also check the top rear brake light is working :ninja:

Deano

Just the 1516 error - nowt else!

I do have an EGR cheater....will investigate that too

Vauxhall and Allparts were useless on the relay front....will stick up a wanted thread go eBay trawling too

Hi all, still no joy!

Things ive done so far:

Tried Joe's brown and grey relays
Tried Joe's spare ECU, Immob and transponder key - Op comm reports wrong transponder key and I think still the same 1516 error (gonna try again with this in a bit)
A complete continutity test between the pedal and the ECU using the TIS wiring diags - all checked out
A complete continutiy test between the ECU and the throttle body plug - all checked out
Ran 12v to the 'E' & 'F' pins on each Throttle body I have and they all open.

So im now stuck again. Can some one with an NA and op-comm check my values below against what they get? (this is with just the ignition on... no pedal pressed or starter button pressed.) I think the values i've highlighted red may be a bit suspect??

If Joes ecu was good which it was why you still getting wrong transponder key doesn't make sense . Have you changed pedal ? I would investigate about wrong transponder if you have changed it have you changed chip to suit ? My transponder packed up but I put new one on reprogrammed and all was good

How did you reprogram it Lee? I've tried two throttle pedals now...still same error. in fact the error doesn't appear until I push the pedal so that must be doing something. I.e. ignition on > clear codes > *no codes * > push pedal > check codes > *P1516* I can also see the values change in Op com so the ECU knows how far Im pushing the pedal down

You can program with op com but I used tech 2 You shouldn't have any problem with joes ecu as it was all runing and good you checked for any bent pins etc I assume you have . These things are sent to send you crazy . I have another pedal but can't think that you could have 2 duff pedals ?

Cheers for that Vocky - That basically matches what I get with the engine off - the only readings that are slightly different in the MAP sensor, but that might be down doto the fact that I took my readings on in he middle of the day on warmish day? I think Joe's finger pointing at the immobiliser could be correct... Anyone got a spare one of them i can try :-S If you could send that loom my Lee that would be great! like you say anything is worth a go....!

Nope, rad fan wasn't on. Guess when it's switched to earth to start the fan, the value changes to 0. Maybe.

Your MAP sensor readings are off, so replace that first before you continue.

Thanks Exmantaa - one more thing to try! Will hunt one of those down. EDIT: Mines not an SC though and Techie's is, so would that explain the differences in the MAP readings? or is mine just off anyway?
