Not keen on Opera either. It's (if memory serves) a remote terminal type access. So it just returns the results to your screen. Which is good for speed, but not so good if you want to click on interactive content.
Think that's only Opera Mini, Opera Mobile is very similar to Dolphin I think.

Is it really worth it then? I've dithered about rooting it for ages but when i looked at the advantages there didn't seem to be any stand-out feature that compelled me to go to the effort. Can you keep HTC sense overlaying it in case I miss it?
yes you can either keep the htc sense (i personally dont like it) or move to other launchers which offer a lot of other functionality. Just google "xda developers one x" then go to the development sectio and have a look at the differenr roms you can put on. it may be confusing at first, but look at the features that the offer... battery life iprovements and having better auto settings for the auto brighness being a couple of the biggest perks.
Think I'm gonna give it a go tonight, fancy a bit of a change anyway and if it can reduce the general background clutter that's always running enough to be able to play GTA III properly then I'll deem it a success

I'd say it's definitely worth it. ICS is better and so much quicker than what's gone before. If you can be bothered and don't mind holding on to the HD, I reckon it'll breath new life into the Desire HD. I think HTC are releasing an official upgrade in July or August with a newer version of Sense (though not the low interference/impact Sense 4.0 that we've got on the One X). If you're want a rock solid highly optimised version of ICS, without all of the chaff that you get on an official version, have a look at Cyanogenmod. It's the basis of lots of the aftermarket custom ROM's.

Same(ish) here... only been BB user for 30 months thoughAfter four pages, what's the verdict,. S3 or 1X?
I'm thinking of ditching my trusted Blackberry. And i've been a BB user since 2007, so its going to be a bit of a shock.

I've asked for a One X as it appears to be the more structurally substantial beast and the clock can definitely be binned

I stripped all of the sense 4.0 stuff off my phone and went fot using apex launcer and then used the "minimalistic text" app to put on things like time, date, ip address and weather forecast on the home screen. I looks way better, and it is one of the things i have really started to like about android.
If you want any help with flashing or roms, then let me know- i am ot an expert, but i have done mine sucsessfully.
Home screen shot please:)

i think it looks a bit messy.
there are icons of different sizes and stiles all over the place. I'm sure i'd get used to it quickly though and lets be honest the interface can't be as sh*t as that of Blackberry's.
I find the bb interface pre "touch devices" to be rather good. You can do the important stuff from one or two layers down compare to ios which is just a maze of pain. Some of the android functionality is close to the rim way but better than their touch efforts.
