I've had to rescue the wife's i-pap crap from being stomped on a number of occasions because of form filling issues, no such problems since she swapped to the Galaxy!

Never found an issue filling in forms with the iPad. I do tend to do my banking on a laptop though because I prefer a real keyboard

Natwest website works really well in the iPhone and iPad... Is shite on the Galaxy S3. Bloody Directline wasn't much better - though both are RBS companies, so I see a theme emerging.

Try using Opera-mini, much better :)

Good point actually, what browser are you using Mangham? Best all-rounder is Dolphin HD IMO (and general consensus).

Would like to try chrome but only have Android 2.3.5 (Desire HD). It's only available on ICS :(

Sort that Desire HD out man. If I were you, I'd get an ICS ROM of your choice installed on it, pronto.

Is it really worth it then? I've dithered about rooting it for ages but when i looked at the advantages there didn't seem to be any stand-out feature that compelled me to go to the effort. Can you keep HTC sense overlaying it in case I miss it?

I am using whatever browser comes as standard in the S3... Call me boring at your peril, I am currently wearing a purple striped shirt, black trousers and yellow and blue adidas trainers.

yes you can either keep the htc sense (i personally dont like it) or move to other launchers which offer a lot of other functionality. Just google "xda developers one x" then go to the development sectio and have a look at the differenr roms you can put on. it may be confusing at first, but look at the features that the offer... battery life iprovements and having better auto settings for the auto brighness being a couple of the biggest perks.

I'd say it's definitely worth it. ICS is better and so much quicker than what's gone before. If you can be bothered and don't mind holding on to the HD, I reckon it'll breath new life into the Desire HD. I think HTC are releasing an official upgrade in July or August with a newer version of Sense (though not the low interference/impact Sense 4.0 that we've got on the One X). If you're want a rock solid highly optimised version of ICS, without all of the chaff that you get on an official version, have a look at Cyanogenmod. It's the basis of lots of the aftermarket custom ROM's.

As Dave said, if you really want to get driven insane, have a look at the Desire HD forum at XDA-Developers to see all of the different options available. It's possibly the worlds worst forum as there's just sooo much crap on there that you need the patience of a saint to actually find the useful stuff but worth persevering with.

I'm a bit with you there Techie. I'm starting to find Dolphin getting slower. And when trying to type into a browser window its quite slow, not auto capitalisation and no spell check. I've tried chrome, but I don't like it. I doesn't even feel like a beta version. Perhaps I need to try it a bit more and start to get used to it. But it's nothing like the windows version of Chrome which I use all the time.

Yep, they seem to have caught the same disease Firefox did on the desktop with bundling ever more "features" into it and losing sight of what made it the best browser in the first place. :(
