Ooooo that does look fancy :) . Is that cyanogen or just vanilla android? Going to do mine tonight I think if I can learn how to do it quickly enough, want to make an image of mine currently though so I've got a perfect backup to return to if needs be.

yep, do a nandroid backup of your device, which is always part of the instuctions and is always a good idea.

In reference to is being messy, it is how i set it up, i decided what words and fonts i wanted to be used in the time, date, and weatherforecast, i put the icons in for things i use most often, or am currently playing with and the small ones are there in a little folder. As i said before, it is the thing i like about the anroid is that my one is how i wanted it to be, although it did take a fair while of setting up to get it that way. THe only thing that does annoy me though, is that when you go to the menu will all of your apps you can not sort this, so you are restriicted into customising the various home screens.

That was mine too, but it really isn't the be all and end all for life. Whatsapp is an acceptable alternative for cross platform use. Or just email lol

I've been using the S3 for 2 weeks now. moved on from blackberry which I'd had for 6 years. Biggest thing you'll find is charge time. 2+ hours to fully charge! and it'll suck that down in no time if given a chance. I have been playing with it a lot so as time goes on probably not drop so quickly Also miss dedicated Send/End button a lot.

Hah. It's was. So what are people using for podcasts on the Android? Think I'll also try load the other OS things. Is it worth installing a multiple boot loader thingy as a backup? can see I'm hip with the terminology. :)

Just went into the phone shop to do a 'structural' test (along with deleting the clock off both versions ) and oddly the S3 felt like it resisted the twist more than the 1X did :s All the reviews say the 1X is the stronger of the two...... odd

But can you hammer a nail into a block of wood with the S3? Not sure CarphoneWarehouse would let you test that though. Other than a couple of software flops my S3 has been very good.

Off topic here but just wanted to say thanks to Techie and Dave for convincing me to root and custom ROM my Desire HD. Running Cyanogenmod 7 at the moment (did try IceColdSandwich because I wanted ICS but the video camera doesn't work yet as no-one has figured out how to port it properly to the DHD, which is a deal-breaker for me). My battery life when on standby has nearly doubled (3% loss in 6hrs of sleep last night), it is WAY faster and most importantly is now fast enough to play GTA III  . Weird how you get used to things that you didn't realise though, just simple things like where the ! key is on the HTC Sense keyboard compared with the standard Android keyboard is making typing a bit slower sometimes. Only real gripe for me is losing the HTC internet pass-through (able to use internet on your phone via USB to a PC) as I don't have wifi at work and sometimes want to download loads of stuff. Overall though the benefits so far seem to outweigh the negatives, wish I had done it ages ago now though.

i am just doing another flash of the rom today, based on the 4.0.3 release of ICS. I am glad to know that you are happy with it :)
