for the PFC in our calipers, then you can only get 01 and 08 front and 97 rears, easily available afaik

I ran 97's front and rear, that was about 4 years ago though.

7824.97.15.44 would be the fronts , demon-thieves might sell them

What did you think of them? I currently have 1144's if you want to make a comparison.

batshit mental! :D
I had 44's on before fitting the 97's
can be a little squeally (but I'm sure the anti rattle shims etc would sort that). They were the worst pads for 'shite from cold' BUT BUT BUT READ THIS!!! They were still better than OEM/greens from cold! Once they had one gentle slowdowns worth of heat in them you could headbutt the windscreen :)
The dust is plain evil, I say dust, its mostly brake disc as the pads just dont fcuking wear. I had about 2 years, 30K + Ring and a couple of track days from them and they still had 50% material left when I binned them due to rusting onto the discs

You need to ensure the brake fluid is in tip top condition.
you also need to wash the wheels weekly (or daily if tracking) otherwise the crap welds onto the rims and never comes off... And then looks sexy as the wheels go orange in the rain

In short, a great pad but a little overkill for the road. I'd just go for 55's or CL5+'s for keen road and occasional track use.

Hmmm, perhaps I need a similar thread. I'm looking for a reasonable fast road pad for the 4 pots and rears thats not going to destroy wheels (I dont mind dust as long as it comes off). I'm a wee bit scared of the CL5+'s falling apart!

I'm only miffed cause mine did fall apart, but they were a great pad and you could leave the wheels unwashed for months and the brake dust came straight off.
CL6's though are another step up again and even without shims aren't actually any noisier than the 1155's I had.

Road as well, mine is mainly a road car and my cl5+ were great until they catastrophically failed! Luckily I was going very slow at the time. You'll love the Pagids, a bit overspecced for non track work but the braking with them is awesome. You won't be disappointed. :D when you get some proper heat in them, they get even better.

I'm gonna have a go at some YellowStuffs for my front axle. Why the hell not. As usual i've turned them (Pagid RS4-2) into door wedges despite having a completely different brake setup now. I guess I have a heavy foot! This is Hi-Spec Billet4's so not directly applicable to tiny AP pads - which have to endure totally different pressure characteristics.

With the huge choice of pads available why oh why would anyone even think of putting cl5s on ????

Catastrophic failure of brakes may be on a par with catastrophic failure of tyres as top of the list of things you don't need

Love my CL5's :) They must have had a 'bad' batch - shouldn't happen I know - but I'll continue to use them as can't think of anything better for my needs.

I wouldn't. I fitted a full set a couple of days before a trackday at Bedford and first impressions where great whilst the bedding-in coating was on them. But, had the most woeful braking of any trackday, anywhere. Somehow they contrived to generate enough heat to turn the discs blue, whilst at the same time providing absolutely no retardation whatsoever. Took the pads out the next day to bin them and found they'd pretty much disintegrated around all of the edges including the vent in the centre of the pads and were crumbling away to the touch. EBC weren't interested, despite the fact they'd done less than 150 miles. That on top of the performance of the Greenshite pads that came on the car means I'll never waste the money on an EBC pad of any kind, ever again.

Last time I managed to get on at Bedford, so a couple of years back now. I think they were relatively new on the market at the time. It wasn't isolated either, there were a few threads running on various fora at the same time with other people having issues. They may well have changed the compound since but, they'll never dirty my wheels again. I'll see if I can find the pictures of the state of the pads when they came out.

I can.

Any that don't fall to bits.

At the National your brakes seemed good, granted we were going faster than I normally can,ok we were going sh*t loads faster (enjoyed that by the way) but not "omg that awesome" braking.Obviously you know your car, would you say they are that good over others its worth risking a catastrophic fail

55's from that line up.
Although ultimately I'd be throwing the low-spak calipers in the bin and getting real calipers.

They're billet rather than castings like the crappy AP 4 pots ;-) - Seriously they're a bit low rent but work very well indeed, dont weigh much either.
