Question .. My friends evo has a mist kit that sprays water directly on the intercooler .. Would this make any difference to the cooling temp if fitted with a standard vx intercooler ?

sorry Mark, was that torque you used to log the boost TMAP sensor as that usually doesn't work , so would be handy to know

I used a obd2 Bluetooth via a HTC running Torque Pro I don't think my car boosts to 30psi... As never seen anything over 25psi on the gauge in the cockpit

I've been a bit slow to test Torque app on the VX, been doing lots of stuff on the Boxster with it. However yes I can confirm Torque (free version) can read the TMAP sensor, and therefore boost and charge temperature as seen after the Charge cooler/ Intercooler. It cannot read the barometric sensor though. Also so far no cylinder1-4 knock sensor degrees adjustment.

Cant see why it wouldn't work.

Its cheap enough just to order and have a play..

From reading up it lowers temps by about 10c.

Ford use an IC spraybar on the escos rally cars.  They also run some strange CC/IC hybrid system

The wiring side always screws me over on stuff like this.  It's beyond me.

Huh? That's a totally dumbfuckski kit by the look of it. Just a manual switch, so it's either spraying or not spraying. Not like it needs a PWM output from the ECU or some kind of tie in to the throttle pedal and temp sensors. It's so straightforward you could stick a lighter plug on the end of the two wires and run it from the cigarette lighter socket. It's literally a windscreen washer kit with (hopefully) a pair of fine spray heads.

I hear what you're saying and admit myself it should be child's play but car + electrics = mind block for me, might be more fear as house electrics I'm fine with.

I'm the reverse. Won't touch anything more complicated than a plug when it comes to domestic electrics. Every time I open a socket or light fitting to replace it, I can guarantee there's at least 3 times more cables in there, than a diagram with the replacement suggests should be there.

Happy to pull a car loom apart though.

This is in the realm of consumable intercoolers.  Some drag cars run with intercoolers in a bucket of dry ice.  That gets temps down but obviously doesn't last that long!  Strkes me as a bit of a pain as its one more thing to fill up.  (Lazy, me??)

Should've finished that sentence. I agree with you but it is something I'd do as it's simple (excl wiring :P Matt) and not too serious a problem if you do run out of fluid. Not like water/meth injection.

Send me the loom and the switch and I'll extend it and stick 'em together with a cigarette lighter plug , for true plug and play.
