I've just googled it and found out it's name - ArcelorMittal Orbit. So it's name is as ugly is the structure itself .....That red heap of scap metal really is an eye sore, i can't watch the BBC broadcast as they've chosen a spot with it as the central point of their background.
I think the opening ceremony will be good though. CW games in Manchester a few years ago had great ceremonies.

Wasn't he in The Kumars at No. 42?See why I'm filled with dread? Ooooh, it was designed by Anish Kapoor, therefore it must be brilliant.
Errr, no, it looks like sh*t and costs £15 to get up there as well, despite one of the Mittals paying for it all.
