Hope this isn't a common question amongst a newb, but I am wondering i how owners who have bought VXs that are NA feel about their car when they sit in a turbo? I could go out and buy an NA tomorrow if I wanted on my budget, but am hoping for a cheaper turbo to come along. That said, how different are they? Is it chalk and cheese in the performance or is it a bit more marginal? I dont tend to take much notice of 0-62 stats etc, for me its more about in gear acceleration so 30-70 for example as that is a much more common manoeuvre than any drag race. In general driving, is it very different? Will I be sat in an NA wishing I had waited out for a turbo? Just wanting an opinion on the 'drivability' of both.

The turbo has more punch in a smaller rev range, na has a consistent power delivery, I have been on a number of meets now and my n/a has not disappointed against turbos. And it has kept the odd sc honest to.

It's the same as any turbo verses NA car. It depends what you want - surges of power or more linear delivery of power.

You cannot replace the torque the turbo gives and it is a much easier route when upping the power later on. I love the power delivery of my SC but there is well over £10k in the engine bay alone to make it happen and I am still some way off stage 3 turbo torque figures.

I like all the noises you get with a turbo as well as the kick when the turbo comes in guess it all depends what power delivery you prefer I personally prefer a torquey engine.

Do turbos have the same brake set up as the NA? As that website says the tubby stops 0.3 sec quicker from 60mph. Odd for a heavier car.

I don't think there are many turbos or n/a with standard set up on suspension or brake pads / discs

Cant compare really, n/a is more a "drivers" car apparently..... imo the n/a may be a fraction quicker in the bends due to stiffer set up but by the time the n/a gets to the bend it wont matter as the turbo would have already passed the next bend due to it being alot quicker on the straights.... spend £KK on a s/c and the owner of the turbo could spend £500 on a re-map and still be quicker.... Think it just depends on what your looking to spend to get the car in the 1st place... Just my opinion based on fact.

Thanks guys, and girls. Came from an NA car so used to that linear progressiveness. Situation is that sold the Zed for £10k, would like to pocket some change at the moment as in the middle of a career move. £8k would be a nice budget.

If you are on a budget you will get a better Na than a turbo. Totally different cars as standard. I am glad I have a turbo having driven lots and lots of VX's in all states of tune. When I went to order my car from new I was going to buy an Na but was to late as they had stopped building them so had to have a Turbo. I would have definitely Souperchugged an Na if I had one though.

Saw Courtney doing the SC kit for a touch under £4k... ...just guess I need to get out in a few, hopefully heading over to Shepperton later to have a ride in a Turbo...albeit a modified one.
