If you are on a budget you will get a better Na than a turbo.

Yeah I agree also when you have the spare cash then you can supercharge it

It's been said a million times but you really should drive both, you will get biased views from everyone on here so the only way to be sure is to drive them yourself.

If you try both you will naturally want a turbo but when you learn to drive a nA it will give you a lot more satisfaction, Especially when the turbo lot can't understand why they can't get away from you

Get yourself to a meet and grab a few pax rides in NA"s & turbos then in a few tuned cars if you can SC's and higher stage Turbos to see what really grabs your attention! You can look at stats on a screen all night long but they wont tell you how it feels to hear the supercharger S C R E A M at you when accelerating, or the induction noise a Turbo makes on wide open throttle and the sudden rush of power that will litterally leave you speechless!!! Though with a budget of £8k I'd be getting the best NA I could find, there have been some absolutely stunning cars (Nat's in the one that springs immediately to mind) that have been sold for that price recently! And I've never been on a run yet whatever the various stages of tune all the cars are that anyone has ever been 'left behind' or anyone has ever looked as if they were having any less of a fantastic time than anyone else! :) :grouphug:

The Na with a supercharger on is almost perfect as a road car.

Thanks again guys. Hope I am not appearing as a complete numpty, I do know cars well and very adept at modifying (my whole family are car mechanics) - just want to go into this particular car with my eyes wide open to the options. I think a nice NA would be a better option than a tatty T, with a possible view to SC, didnt realise how cheap it was to SC.

whatever helps you sleep....

If you naturally want a turbo why force the option of not?

Mate, try both - each to their own. For £8K you will get a cracking n/a but at the same time the price at which some of these very good example turbos have been selling for recently you wont be far shy of a nice tubby. At the end of the day your buying a great fun car regardless of which engine is behind your shoulders.

I would be keeping an eye on this one - http://www.ebay.co.u...=item337b22c225

If the car all checks out it seems to have a very reasonable starting price and you may be able to snap it up within budget.

Just wanted to say thanks to Jon Fuller for the tour just now, very quick car thumbsup Think a straight NA might not be for me but loved the look of the VX220 and the seating position was spot on for the sort of drive I am looking for.

Would prefer a turbo, although until i sit in an NA cant be 100% If you knocked 40bhp off Jons car that is the sort of delivery I would like which would be a standard turbo.

I work in Teddington, I just wish I could get mine to work so you could try it out ans see what an SC can do.
