I think you took my comment the wrong way mate please don't call me pal it's a shite way to address someone. If there was a garage near by I could trust I would plans is miles away from me and I'm not sure where else in london town to take it you know it's only going to be something simple ...........well I like to think so The zorst is the full 2.5" system from Piper (I think it still has all the stuffing in it still !) got maybe 500 miles on it since it went back for a replacement back box thats the worst it's been and isn't like it now but I thought I'd post it up hoping someone may have half a jar as what it could be. You know of a garage I could take it to ?

The hunting could be the coilpack. Try taking it off and pull the rubber bits with the springs in, off. Check the posts are not corroded.

have you opend up and sprayed inside the blue and black plugs hidden behind the coolant tank mounting bracket (aka plugs of doom) might also be worth removing the ecu plugs and spraying them too.

I doubt it's the coilpack, if it was causing shity running at idle it'd be shittier at higher revs. Also you've swapped it. When did you fit the blanking with no cheater and did it run OK without it, and if so for how long? Def worth getting it fitted just to eliminate it as a potential problem.

Check taht the two plugs are pushed fully home. The last few mm are tough but critical. Make sure the latches click home too. It could be loose connectors in the plug too. If you open the plug, look in, pull off the yellow mesh to expose the terminals. Look very carefully and you'll see a spring part inside them. This can get bent back if the terminal is weak. This is caused by the wiring moving either side of the plug (anchor the wires!!!). You can bend them back with a pin as a get you by measure whilst you get some new terminals. Fingers crossed for you. Took me 3 months to pin down the terminals as faulty in mine.

I have EML on but have no reader
My Piper has always caused the eml to come on I have a sim but have yet to fit it as I am scared about mounting it incorectly as it has some chunky resistors in it also I can't remember where it plugs in ( I have terrible short term memory loss something to do with too many parties back in the day  )

Just a wild stab in the dark here but mine is having similar issues and it seems to be a power drain. lastnight i had the lights on and the radio and the misfire was bad with the car cutting out when i hit the revs but then improved when i removed turned off the radio after 20mins of driving restarting whislt moving the car came back to life, so im now thinking Battery !

The eml light is on and you are trying to guess the problem without reading it. You must enjoy a challenge. 5 mins on the phone would find a garage who would read it for 15quid. You could buy your own reader for 20. It sounds like a sensor issue to me...but have you tried using a divining rod to look for this water first? Maybe there is a Hopi indian nearby who would help in return for a few new feathers. ;-) ;-) ;-)

That sounds like the connections are loose and slipping under accleration, check connections are tight and not hitting anything in the bonnet ;)

Thate a good point about the power drain. Mine did that for about a mile before it cut out when my earth cable had come away from the battery terminal.
