ok may be getting somewhere I just connected a wire from the battery neg to the ecu and this time the stack stayed lit. I will now check the earth points and make certain they are ok. however still no fuel pump, no fuel at the rail..

fuel pump relay isn't switching by the sound of it, was the 'red' wire I added for the CC pump or the fuel pump relay ? either way check the relay for the fuel pump(s) and the relay in the boot

I will have a look, going out now the alarm relay is working and the fobs won't sh*t it off 1. does the alarm shut the fuel pump off? 2. can I isolate the alarm to get it running then fix that later, most of the inside of the car is in bits so I should be able to access anywhere behind the dash

the vx220 alarm is totally isolated from the ecu, so you can happily drive along with the alarm going off  The immobiliser (key chip/transponder/ecu) however switches the fuel pump off thumbsdown

Cleaned 2 of the major earth points, on the gearbox(top) and the chassis ( rear) stack is ok now, I went to turn it over and it tried to turn over half a turn but then went clunk, I am charging the battery now, however still no fuel rail pressure I will check it the starter motor earth, I thought I heard some sort of arcing since I put the intake manifold spacer on the large positive terminal on the alternator has about 3mm clearance, enough?

And if the positive lead on the starter motor isn't touching the manifold...

It cranks over,

no eml flashing,

so JUST got to sort the power to the secondary pump

Just conform Neil that was right the red wire goes to the secondary fuel pump relay?
I also have a black wire from K16(brown and green to the cc pump)

Everything you should know: http://www.speedster...e Z22SE - 1.pdf

Z22SE ecu feeds the pump relay with a 12v signal:
White violet wire from ecu through pin 8 of the X2 connctor to connection 2 of the fuel pump relay. Relay pin 4 is to ground.

LET is different, as the ecu switches to ground: http://www.speedster... Z20LET - 2.pdf
(Relay pin 4 switched to ground through X2-8, Wh-Vt wire. Relay pin 2 has +12v through K18.)

here is what I have

K16 back - wht/vt (large cable) +12v
k18 small brown +12v green/pink -

K16 black - wht/vt (large cable) +12v => that's the +12v feed, OK. Thin Wh/Vt from ecu gives +12v when cranked? If yes, does the K16 switch and give power to the BnGy wire ? (you can bridge the relay with a +12v to the thin Wh/Vt to check working...) k18 small brown +12v green/pink - => That means the ecu gives a correct ground signal with the Green/Pink. Does the K18 give now power to the Bn and Bn/Pk wires?

First part yes

when cranking no power from the Bn(2) and Bn/pk(2)
