Ha, well i'll probably be at the bottom in reality, however I can play around with the parts I have now (unfortunately not enough ballasts right now for a working headlight, they're all fitted to the prototype units)

There's a reason for that; I haven't shared any.

It will be very similar to the OEM unit from the rear, however until I take delivery of the large grommets needed to enclose the bulbs it's just a lot of holes.

Now following the topic again (Thought I already was but hay ho...)  I will def be up for a deposit when needed for a next batch if possible.

I have been limping through MOTs for the last 2 or 3 years with my blobs of chemical metal and poor adjustability!!  :o

Update

Batch 1 of 2 of the carbon fibre enclosures have been received (split into batches to avoid waiting until all are produced before I can start assembly). Currently trimming parts and will be sent off for paint after this. All major lamp and wiring components have been ordered and received. Waiting on some minor components for assembly (bulk purchases of bolts and similar). I expect to start contacting people for final payment and delivery details in at the end of next week, however please be aware this will be one at a time as I produce the lamps.

LED option

I'm pleased to be able to offer the option of a LED high beam and running lights. These running lights will be activated by the sidelight switch, however I will likely be able to provide details/wiring to enable running on ignition at a later date.

If anyone would like this option, there will be a £75 surcharge. Please contact me by the 17th October to state your interest.

Could you take some pictures of the light pattern and strength compared between halogen and LED head beam?

Will do this evening, however the beam strength is dominated by the bixenon and the halogen/LED high is more for flash operation during day (where the bixenon is useless due to the start time)

When you put full beam on.. What bulbs come on? Is it bixenon and halogen? Will it be yellow?

The bixenon unit is one bulb with a solenoid controlled cut-off, this means in it's resting position, the projector works as a dipped/driving light, when the solenoid is activated the flap stops blocking the rest of the lamp and it becomes a full beam.

The main beam feed activates both the solenoid flap on the bixenon and main beam projector. This means one of two things:

1. Driving during day without lights on, only the main beam halogen/LED unit will light up, suitable for flashing

2. During night driving, both main beam halogen/LED and bixenon unit will light up, suitable for lighting empty roads.

The halogen unit will be more yellow than the bixenon, while the LED unit is more closely matched in colour to the bixenon.

Thanks Tom, with the halogen option do you still get the standard 501 sidelight bulb?

Yes, it's an identical projector to the OEM, however the sidelight bulb is in a slightly different position due to packaging.

Thank you. It would be interesting to see what the halogen setup looks like on full beam and dipped beam.
