Advantage of doing that on a dyno is more consistent and smoother power runs, so you'll be able to fine tune the ignition timing better.

This is the only problem of doing it on road the software does pick up every bump in the road But you could get it close then fine tune at RR

Sounds like the person you were talking to thought the software ramped up ignition to knock detection. This dose not happen, all the software can do is reduce ignition advance not advance it!

I've found parts of MK are ideal for power runs, go up the road one way, around the roundabout and back down. That way you're taking into account the change in altitude.

Roads are sh*t though. I think we need to build in some mapping time into a euro trip.

I can vouch for Chris (efi parts) he's done a lot of work on the family's cars over the years and he really knows his stuff :)

Yes I spoke to him before I did my conversion and he said the Dutch software looked impressive and he asked for a link to the software.

How long does it take after ecu sent to get it back ? Who wants a drive in and help me map my beast ? Who has got some 630 injectors they want to sell ?

I got mine back in about 5 days, 2 days to send with peter for a day or less then 2 days to get back so if you send on a Monday you could have by friday.

Can't help with the rest as mine is still sitting in my desk draw cos I'm a lazy ass!

there should not be a need to send it over to holland , just writing a new bin file onto the ecu would just take 10 minutes.

And how would that work with the only bin writer being located in Peters attic?

About 5 days I am here Lee, should be mapping mine again soon Davemate had some spare a few weeks ago, drop him a pm, or see who has them in a box on the shelf and replace them with zip ones they took about a week to get here. You going to see if he will do v3 as it allows for WI and different maps?

I can read and write thats the easy bit, cable adaptor is the same that Peter supplies . You need a laptop to use the obd tune software .

I bet you can.

But why would he hand over the sourcecode of 6 years of labour?

The magic is in the serverside software, not the client.

But go ahead i would say. See if you can crack the encryption :tt:
