Looking good, haven't summoned up the courage to cut mine yet, are you going to leave out the internal soundproofing on the bulkhead?

I'm using this stuff http://www.camauto.c...adhesive-backed 24"x 36" will just about do it. The 20% discount code doesn't work ATM but I've been assured it will be reactivated Monday :)

The Camauto 20% discount code is now working again.

the bracket for the earthing block, has three nylocs visible and bolts somewhere behind the bulkhead, one of mine is spinning when I went to remove the bracket. this black material isn't even remotely heat proof.

meanwhile , 5 years later , going to need something better to cut this material as its appears to be resisting my efforts so far.

tempted to whip the clam off as it will might help getting the turbo oil feed pipes off , managed to pop my shoulder trying to do the 24mm banjo from underneath.

if it ever stops raining this year

What are you trying to cut Steve, the furry/felt like material that clads the bulkhead or the bulkhead material itself?

For the furry felt material I used a Stanley knife, though I think I simply pulled the whole lot out by hand in the end and most of it detached from the wall easily. I did a fire test on it afterwards and the bloody stuff actually lit and stayed lit easily, so it's best out IMO as it could easily soak oil or petrol and become a proper fire risk.

If you are cutting the bulkhead it's harder as it has a bit of resin in it that melts and sticks to any soft of dremmel/angle grinder like disc, but it is possible with care.

yes felt material , will probably use a stanley knife, but access is a bit of a pain. does not seem to be anything really holding it in

Incredible how that got through it's vehicle type approval by the VCA. Maybe they don't look for fire risks, or perhaps the bloke doing the test was asleep when he passed the VX220!
