FWIW, I changed from Michelin Pilot Sport rear to KU39's some time ago. The combination of KU39's at the back and Michelin on the front was undriveable for quite some time. Exactly like described above: complete disconnect of the front and rear. Day after the change I had to go to Germany and didn't dare to drive over 130 kmh. And checked several times to see if something was wrong with the car, expecting something really serious. Couldn't find a thing. At home I checked all the links, the geo etc. Nothing. Did some burn outs etc. Little improvement. After some weeks, it gradually got better and now, after some months, everything is fine.

I think its down to different sidewall construction and the deep tread block of new tyres

My thee penneth on winter/wet weather tyres.
People need to state whether theyre talking about AD08 or AD08R which are softer compound than just the AD08.
Toyo R1R are without question the best all round tyre.
Ku39 were regarded as not as good as the KU31, but that opinion seems to have changed.
Toyo T1R's should be avoided at all costs and burnt on sight should you even be given them for free.
Yokohama A039 as good as the R1R but properly expensive.
Federal rsr595 seem to be getting decent reviews from those that use them for most conditions.

I've just driven 1.3 miles on Eagle F1 Asym 2's, and they are amazing. I recommend everyone buys a set immediately..

They are relatively light: 205 45 16 - 7.9kg 225 45 17 - 8.9kg (bathroom scales)What is the weight of those tires?I've just driven 1.3 miles on Eagle F1 Asym 2's, and they are amazing. I recommend everyone buys a set immediately..

Agreed rsr's are poor in the cold and wet. In my experience, the ad08's had better wet weather performance but still wouldn't recommend them for winter use. Something more mainstream like the F1 asymmetric is a better road tyre. Here's my rsr's in the rain... And for the record, RSRs are fantastic in the dry and when warmed up on track, but woeful in the cold/damp/wet. Utterly devoid of grip or feedback on two wet track days but then when the track starts to dry out it's like someone has fitted different tyres as you're driving along.

I wonder if the reason I get more tyre temperature and don't have the problems in cold rain, is partly setup but that I run a bit more tyre pressure in them , plus the monster front ARB
