I had some KU39's fitted this afternoon to the rears
To say they are 'lively' before scrubbed in is an utter utter understatement. The back end is totally detatched from the front, in a really not good way.
More miles needed methinks. I've never felt the car so unbalanced after a new set of rears, but I never mix fronts to back (KU31's on the front)
Check the pressure I found the same only to find the tyre fitter had put 32 psi in despite me telling him to put 27 in

Checking pressure is super important.
Giving a definitive review of a tyre is pointless without scrubbing it in to your car.. Using this site to see which tyres scrub in quickly and which tyres take hundreds of miles to scrub in is very useful.
Kind regards, Paul
Here we go again 'kind regards, Paul'
Did I give a definitive review of the tyres? No I bloody didn't. I just warned people they are very skittish before being scrubbed in.
IE the sort of advice that stops people ditching their car after having brand new Kumho KU39's fitted.
As for pressures (if anybody needs to know before searching) I asked for 26psi before, during and checked afterwards. 26psi.
The super important psi.that was 26psi. Not 22psi. not 1000psi. just 26psi. they are now 26psi aswell.
You seriously need to wind your neck in
Kind regards, Jules

Edit - just read you've checked pressures.
Was it damp? I'm sure they'll scrub in and perform the same as the 31s on the front but as you say, worthwhile noting it so others can be cautious too

Something clearly not right. I have ku31 on fronts and new ku39 on back. Probably done about 250 miles but no issues with grip experienced. No I had the rears only fitted with the existing Ku31's on the front. Quite frankly, I dont want to drive it at the moment, it's that bad. I drove it to the garage that's doing the suspension and in parts I was lucky to keep it on the road...that bad. GEO checked, pressures checked (all spot on) and it's still woefull. I've only done about 200 miles on them but it really is bloody frightening how badly disconnected the rear is to the front. Imagine an F1 tire warming 'wiggle' ....I'm losing the back end at 30mph

Indeed,
I'm still on 26r/24f....but there may be more to it.
It's now been MOT'd and predicably failed on the ABS issue and a headlight owl spotting.
However an advisory on a rear toe link being worn....not sure whether this would cause such issues from worn to new tyres but I doubt it would help, and time will tell after it's all back together with brand new pretty much everything

Yep,
It went from pretty much perfect to a horror show after fitting the KU39's...and I may have (with hindsight) made the understandable assumption that the tyres were the issue.
However, I guess a vx with 115k on the clock and changing one of the fundemental parts which put you on the road could (and not changing anything else in 115k) highlight inadequacies of all the other worrn out bits.
As I said time will tell.
