It is the 2.5, was bought off Joe (though I paid Vocky and picked up at his place :/ ). That's certainly part of the reason for going 2.5inch for the rest of the system, the others being I don't believe I'd need 3inch for 280bhp and hopefully to also help a little with the noise. We'll see if that's right or not given time.

G

You should have no problem with the 2.5", as my 2.0 got 275-282 (depending on dyno bench) with the stock 2.2 manifold blowing in the 2.5 Tullett exhaust. Ow, and with stock LSJ cams too, so close to 300 should be feasible for you, if you care for numbers.

Just remember that the cat is phrone to melting...

Lots of great goodies there mate I will give you a hand where I can and am needed ;-) that's the least I can do lol

Thanks mate, your support and expertise will likely be invaluable in this build. Just remember you've said it on a public forum now... no going back ;)

Good luck with that Graeme thumbsup

Though I suspect 'once' might become a new dot org euphemism :P

Thanks mate, and yes, I appreciate I may be setting myself up for a fall with the name - and that it's inevitable I'll have verious issues and teething problems along the way - but hopefully the sentiment will still stand. What I don't want to do is build it to a spec then realise there's a vastly better way of doing it only weeks or months later

Looks like a cracking project. Love the seats. Will the 2.0 be able to rev higher with the shorter stroke crank?

Thanks, seats not definite yet, though I do like the look of the Composite Worx items and the 2hours I spent in it on my living room floor suggests they're just as comfortable as OEM.

In theory the 2.0-litre will be a bit more rev-happy, hence the Supertech springs, but the rev-limit will be set during the ECU calibration rather than aiming for a rev figure before hand.

Good luck with that Graeme thumbsup

Though I suspect 'once' might become a new dot org euphemism :P

Like a Duncan?

See Previous Lee (below)

As for timescales, well how does a handful or two of 'Duncans' sound? Honestly not sure, I'd hoped to have started as soon as I got the car, I'm now effectively 11 weeks behind and won't be able to do as much as I would have previously straight out of the box (or collar). Other people are confident it'll be done pretty quickly but I'm aware that things rarely play out like this. Ask me again once things start happening...

Good luck Graham

Thanks Aimy.

Amazing to think how much car you'll end up with for a 20k budget. Looking forward to the updates.

Lets not get too set on that budget eh? Not sure I can get it painted as cheap as you can mate...

Yup I reckon with proper engine work and decent optimisation we should hit 280 easily enough, hopefully without running completely silly boost through the charger, which will help with intake temps right? 300 might be nice, but as I'm sticking with the B207 pistons, I'm right in thinking that might be pushing it a little too hard right?

Oh, and who says there's going to be a cat in this car? :D

Sticking with your ethos Ken, I'm sure bits being fitted were or are standard on some car somewhere at some time... that counts right? ;)

Remembered a couple of things to add to the list; bought DaveE's old clutch, and need to source a lightened flywheel for the car as well.

If you decide you don't want them I might have to attempt to get them if they come up for sale.

If i'm not careful half my car will be made from bits off you. haha

FYI Al, I only have one Composite Worx seat at the moment - so may not be of any use to you if I do decide to sell. Perfect for those looking for a trackday seat that looks gorgeous as well though...

And you keep buying bits I'll keep selling ;)

Oh! well doesn't work for me then, Sam will get jealous if i'm in a better seat.

You'll have to keep selling bits i want then.

I look forward to seeing this when it's finished

As a matter of interest, how will all these B207 supercharged engines be cooling their intake charge? Are you hoping to just use the standard laminovas in the GM inlet and a pre-rad and header tank?

Ah, thanks for the info. Who was it who sold all those engines? Would they have Z20LEH ones by any chance?

it was a Saab parts specialist, they are only cheap as Saab went bust and they sold all the stock in bulk.

Great project and interesting move from Turbo to SC... I love the delivery of my turbo but equally enjoyed my ride in Lee's SC at the National.  Good look with it all and hope your recovery stays on track thumbsup

Thanks. That's certainly the idea.

In terms of my bank balance, it's the only type of fun I can afford!

Yup, Neo Bros. They took a good few trucks over to the last Saab festival and bought so much they had to build a new/extend their current warehouse to hold it all back here in the UK.

heard you were out last night :D

Mates birthday party in MK, followed by the perfect hangover cure of a trip to IKEA today where we spent £200 on picture frames alone - no I lie there was a frying pan included in that bounty as well. ;)

Normally I love turbo cars, but the midrange wallop the VXT really doesn't show its chassis off in the best light. Thanks for the best wishes.
