As per the title - mine needs replacing.

Alternatively, if anyone knows where to get a new one for a not too unreasonable sum (I hear they're shockingly expensive), please let me know.

Thanks in advance! :)

Usual Louts vendors sell them, they're not a straight swap with the connectors needing to be switched around.

I trawled a load of threads on that and no one seems to have successfully installed one from an AX or any other car.

If it has been done would be nice to put a guide up?

Pentagon / Grimshaws Vauxhall in Eccles Manchester used to have one stuck in stock (cancelled order) when i worked there over two years ago. They might still have it and do a special price. Number is 0161 798 7000 i think.

Gave 'em a call and they didn't have one in stock anymore. They were very helpful but a new one is £350 with an uncertain delivery date. I'm going to see if I can get one here before I order one. £350 is a lot but still cheaper than having the car sat in the garage and not being able to drive it.

Surprised there's no after market solution as it seems wiper motors are fairly generic apart from the connector and mounting brackets.

I saw that, but: -

The guy who fitted it for me said he took the old motor and the bit it attachs to off and bolted the AX one on. Pain In The Ass job he said! Works perfectly except he had to dick around with the 'stopping' of the motor so it didn't smash in to the clam, all in all think he had the car for about 3 hours.

Bit the bullet and ordered one through the local Opel Speedster Centre of Incompetence. They have to order it from the Uk, but should have it for the weekend. Cost £400 in the end. I feel violated - I've bought a set of tyres for that!

Time for someone to come up with an off the shelf solution!

Thats a lot for a motor...... mine cost less than £100 including fitting!  The AX one is still going strong in my VX. Good luck with the new motor :)

There's no way I could find someone to fit it here, and if I could it would be way more than £100. Your guy should be churning them out for people like me.

When it comes in, please take detailed pictures and write down all the serial numbers you can find on it.

I've started a guide for a cheap solution.

I've also updated the guide for removal/fixing the motor.
