These are actually a better size. Think I'd probably look for something between this size and the ones I have after the respray. Never really considered that the carbon plates actually serve a purpose. Already got the sill covers in carbon though so may be a bit of carbon overload. Didn't know that about the front wheels either. Good to know though as I guess the car is already very unbalanced front to rear. Has one ever fallen from having the front wheels removed? My effort: VX220 sill cover.JPG Ok, I'll get my coat........

I knew it was a possibility, seen a few horror pics but didn't realise it was such a minor weight issue like a front wheel, thought it was just numpty putting ramps too far forward? Next there'll be a sticker on front arch pointing out do not remove unless you anchor front end or acroprop at the rear?Yes.Has one ever fallen from having the front wheels removed?

That pic was a mix of poor lift placing and heavy ass. It's good for scaring the sh*t out of people to cause needless worry though
There is a youtube from a roemanian member doing the same on a scissor lift; tilting his turbo with 1 finger.
Can´t find it atm.

No one said u had to lift the car 20 foot off the floor to get the front wheel off ! Think about it .....No thank you!if they remove a front wheel it should be placed on the bonnet to stop the car falling off the lift
I'd much rather them lift it properly or tether the front end to a weight on the floor. Besides to place the wheel on the bonnet it would already have to of been removed by which time if the car was going to fall it will have probably already done so.

You think about it. The height involved was less the point I was apposed to but regardless it doesn't matter if the car is half a foot off the ground or twenty. Allowing about an inch of tilt on say a 4'' wide support could be enough for it to slip out of place or do damage to the surrounding underside as the surface area of the load shifts. Unlikely if done to that extent maybe but why take undue risks it's just bad practice when the situation can be avoided alltogether by employing the correct lifting technique. My main point however that you seem to of missed was more to do with the fact of why you would want circa 14kg of dirty wheel chucked onto your bonnet when if done properly there would be no need. OK you could put some padding down to prevent paint scratches but what about putting a fair amount of weight / stress onto a component and mechanism not designed to take it. Also what happens if you need access to the radiator etc or the clam is off?No one said u had to lift the car 20 foot off the floor to get the front wheel off ! Wasn't expecting this but I'll take it.
I'm with Dab on this. Mainly because Baron was mean about my giant stickers.

My brother made a joke about having the stickers made out of grip tape. No offence but the Carbon part almost makes it look like an inviting step and you could potentially be asking for trouble. I really do like them though.
Also, I think a few people might be missing the point here. I haven't stuck these on so I can sue someone when they go through the sill. I'm not American. These are meant to be a deterrent to stop people doing it in the first place. Sure I can photograph every inch of the car before leaving it at the garage but why run the risk? Chances are, you'll explain everything to the Sales guy but if he doesn't then relay the message to the spanner monkey, you've wasted your time and are still at the mercy of an uneducated person with these cars..
I'll be away for a couple of weeks from Thursday but should still be able to reply to messages occasionally. I'm also enquiring about Smiley's design and will report back if anyone else is interested in that particular design.

Even I'm surprised about the lack of abuse about the duck tail !!
To rough to judge yet.
