Only turbo ive driven is gbc stage 4 turbo, i was expecting it to be a real bitch to drive after reading about power delivery etc, It wasent dont get me wrong i wouldent give up my stage 3 SC for it because it revs and revs. But it wasent that bad
must've driven a good one then.

Surely you could just put a supercharger on the z20let? I.e the engine wouldn't need to be swapped as it's already set up for boost
But how do you get rid of that extra 50Kg off its fat arse?

the 2.2 has a flatspot between 2500 and 3500 rpm
the 2.2 owners seem to forget to mention this

Oh yes, the barely noticeable flat spot that is about a quarter of the flat spot on a standard turbo.the 2.2 has a flatspot between 2500 and 3500 rpm the 2.2 owners seem to forget to mention this

George has a ££££ standalone ECU to help with the power delivery though?

I have a turbo. I wish I had a supercharged 2.2 instead....
Missed my NA every day after I sold it.. the tubby went last week and I've barely thought about it since..
SC for me next time..

Good to see you out so much in the car on tack this year George (no jealous at all ) lol
As stated a really good driver makes a massive difference! As long as your having fun thats the important thing
I have never really been into the SC thing myself but do seem to hold their own on track. Driven one on the road and compared to standalone VXT or TFSI setup there is no contest imo, I really like low down torque and smooth turbo delivery
The 450bhp S5 I was in last week was an impessive unit mind

The problem I had with my 2.2 was that on the road I could keep my foot flat to the floor most of the time. Just not enough power for the grip available. On track a standard one becomes a mobile chicane. Yes the turbo has it's faults in standard form but handling can be improved easily with a few quid spent on springs and shocks. Power delivery can also be improved with a remap and exhaust. Plenty of turbos out there with this work already done.

also bear in mind the turbo map is now fully adjustable to any enthusiast with TVXR tuning suite at no cost.

Some might see that as a benefit.
If you drove a turbo foot to floor, you'd wrap it round a lamp post.
Maybe you could say an NA is a car to be driven at 10 tenths?
