Ps I have read that all VXT's on 05 have had the Upgraded ABS unit. Which is better on the road than the previous one. But still best to remove sensor wire

Disconnect it on track. Getting the dreaded 'hard pedal' as you hurtle towards a bend will destroy your confidence in the brakes.
Will do Wright stuff for sure. I have seen a lotus development  guy's post (Rockstar) and he says all VXT's had the upgraded ABS which works better on the road.
Change of location from Norfolk to Essex ???

how long before you get the max power again?

On a Klassen/Courtenay map ignition advance is reduced from either 50 or 55 degrees centigrade. Thus the power the car make will be reduced once the IATs go over this threshold. If you want more power without the IATs building up then you need to think "how can I make my engine breath better" (i.e. how can I eliminate pressure losses, both pre and post turbo). Cost effective things that I'd consider to achieve this for a 250 BHP motor are (in approximate order): 1. A new inlet manifold that promotes top end power (fatter shorter inlet runners). 2. Airbox mod. 3. Enlarged Inlet pipe (at least 2.5" diam). 4. Wider diameter top hat. 5. Elimate pre-cat, eliminate cat. 6. 2.5" exhaust. 7. Heat wrap as much of the downpipe +exhaust manifold. This is important as heat rises directly off it upwards and warms the inlet track pipe up. My old stage 4 setup used to heat my inlet pipe upto "untouchable" temps, so I wrapped that as well. Lastly, a decent charge cooler is important for hot days or longer durations of WOT. This however is expensive and time consuming to install, but ultimately is key to reducing IATs as you know. Just think about the fundamentals and a reliable/constant 250 BHP would be easily achievable with your setup with the correct map. This is what I did on my car and it worked, it makes circa 320 BHP with just 10 PSI of boost (abeit with some extra mods in addition to the list above). QED. Hope that helps. Keep you chin up and try not to get flustered by the armchair critics on here. Cheers, Nev.

I have my main house and office in Essex and only in norfolk on the odd day/weekend these days so spend much more time Essex than Norfolk Kieran. I do like Norfolk more though!

Awesome post Nev mate, cheers.

I have the Air Box mod, Measured my inlet pipe to be 73.2 cm OD and at MAF it measures 82.7mm so must be at least 2.5" The pre cat has been removed and replaced with a wider down pipe by Thorney, The car as a bolt on straight through pipe in place of the Cat. 2.5" Milltek system, I will do the heatwrap and thanks for advice re that. Dont know what you mean by Wider diameter Top Hat?? Where do I get one from and where does it fit? Think it is std inlet manifold (how do i tell). I am making 220BHP with 8PSi of boost. I have no idea if it has anything else done to it.

No but I like the look without the V on the front grill. Is this simple to remove as it must benefit the cooling the front rad. Is this a common thing to do?

minimal cooling change.

to do it right you need to take the clam off, but you can just pull it out if you feel wreckless.

Good that its not that one :)

If you're gonna remove the front V (I like it on personally), then it has to be the Steinmetz or Splam grille.

What has Ego's got to do with anything Mangham that I have asked? Odd response to someone asking about best way forward with my car. After all I have not said I want a million BHP just 250-260. Not Ego based I'd like to think.

Nothing... But has all to do with how you have interacted with people on here who have had the decency to reply (albeit with an air of frustration) with the use of flippant replies like the one below:

Thanks for all your help and ill shut up now as I didnt know there was a page limit to asking for help, sorry. I thought it would stop when people got bored of helping me out, lol.

 If you can't or won't accept help from the likes of Graeme (who really is someone worth listening to), why should anyone want to contribute? We have suffered egos far too many times on here... I am not normally one to say boo to a goose, but your attitude has ruffled my feathers.

As I say, I really am one of the last to challenge attitude on here normally. I understand your frustration, but you appear to be unwilling to accept the response you get around what amount of power you should get from your current setup. That is the ego to which I refer... i.e. you and your opinion is worth more than those who have had the decency to try and help. And yes I do sound like a pompous prick with an over-inflated ego.

Unfortunately the 'chooning' racket is designed very much to mug people of their hard-earned. That is the risk you take when you go to the likes of Courtenays, you may win and get more pooowwweerrr for your money, you may be advised of what is wrong/needed on your car to improve it, or even be advised that some pilchard has tried to pull the wool over your eyes and that it is running a currently unsafe amount of power and that it needs to be reigned in for the safety of the engine.

Have you definitely checked that you are not using the original 'boost' pipe (I haven't spotted a reply to this so far, but I may have missed it)? If not that really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really needs to be your first port of call.

Err I am not concerned about my lack of power and have never said that? I am not concerned about my boost level only asking if it sounded right for the bhp I have. I was making comment that the stage 2 power increase that I was predicted seemed low given the extra cost of 2.5" Milltek system, Turbo down Pipe, De-Cat pipe, Airbox modification and £500 remap session at a predicted 230-240 given that the stage 1 made 233BHP with nothing but a map. That I thought seemed a reasonable point to ask about. I also was concerned that Courtneys sited the Milltek as a reason for not getting to the 245bhp level that their 3" system gives.

My boost pipe measurments are on a previous post at around 3" OD and have read on CS site that they measure just 60mm after the MAF. So it looks like mine have been changed for a larger bore. Please show me how I have been unwilling to accept advice (other than from the post that popped up angry at me for asking questions and saying FFSake about me.

Just read Nev's advice and search for things on that list that are easily found or cheap or you run into on ebay. If you manage to install those things yourself there is not much expense. If you have most of them done, go for a remap and experience the result. Tophat is the bended tube on top of the throttle body. Its too small in diameter. If you want 300 and more, which you'll probably want next year, don't forget the internals of your engine. Things will be expensive from the minute you decide to go that way......
