Will be selling mine as I have just bought a bigger ls4 throttle body and seems silly to reduce air pipe with itg filter . Great bit of kit and isn't restricting my car and JG said was good for 400 bhp I think

What you doing to make the throttle body to fit lee? What filtre are you getting to fit with this? I looked it this option a while back but was t sure if the harrop needs it.

I really need to look at quieting mine down a bit as I'm plan on doing a few track days next year and it was measured at 102db static when I was at Snetterton(didn't take it out on track as I'd only just picked it up but was able to get them to do a static noise test it for me) and I think I might well have an issue with the drive by check as the supercharge only gets louder over 3/4 revs and can be heard over the exhaust.

I also think I need to look at quieting down the exhaust a bit as well :ninja:

Out of interest, does ITG or Pipercross recommend the optimal length of intake pipe between the filter and the TB?

is this basically intake runner length? didn't think this really mattered with FI?
Don't know hence the question😛
It doesn't really matter with forced induction. The supercharger adds so much turbulence that any concerns about wavelengths go out of the window. In very simple terms you want the least amount of restriction before the supercharger, that's wide pipes (as the flow of air at the pipe wall is 0), after the supercharger you're pretty much limited by the design of the inlet manifold.
Thanks for clearing that up Tom 👍

So would two air filters Y off as close to throttle body be better for sound and Power

If 1 is more then good enough why add complexity. Anyway, who else wants one! Surprised Keiren hasn't jumped on this :D

True, I don't persist with fitting anything that's not worth it.... How's the 6 speed these days? :P

Same one as on EliseParts? They are cheap at £75.

So..... This will fit in the side pod area using the supplied bracket? Where does the bracket bolt to? On top of the parts in the GB I am assuming I would need an alloy elbow (70mm) 2 jubilee clips and some (70mm) silicon hose , only if the existing hose can't be reused.

Off the top of my (quite drunk) head the bracket attaches to the subframe stay/bar. Hopefully JG or coco could confirm this. And yes you'll need a couple of clips and some hose for this.

Correct. Easiest way is via the wheel arch, remove the liner.

It was originally designed for an Exige

We just made a few changes for the VX.

Just as an update, I have asked the question about power to ITG, waiting on an answer.

And as if by magic "We rate the STAB99XL at around 400bhp – you’ll find you can make even more than that through the airbox but this will be the figure our calculations suggest that this would start to become a restriction on an NA engine. Best regards, Andy Jackson Technical Manager"

WRC filter brings it down slightly, something like 10% iirc which is why i was always conservative and said 'fine for 300'

I expect you can read the NA figure across to a roots type supercharger as they won't generate much vacuum before the supercharger.

Indeed, which hopefully will be enough to ally anyone's questions/fears that it might not be suitable for the power they're hoping to extract from their Z22/B207

So..... This group buy is based around all the parts listed below ARAB65/67R Air filter lid for standard STAB99XL   WRC Foam Non TNB   STAB99 Extra Long Airbox (TOCAAB long)   RAB65TEMBA Mounting bracket assembly   JDR - 2 Dust Rentension Spray (heavy duty) 200ml And It's a straight replacement ( with added 70mm silicone pipe and a 90 deg bend) for the cosworth sourced filter that's used on many sc conversions. It fits in the side pod to existing holes with the bracket supplied in the gb. Offers superior filtration to the cosworth filter mentioned earlier. The filter element can be removed cleaned re oiled and replaced. If someone can confirm all of the above then I'm in.

List of parts are correct.

I have no idea about the 'Cosworth' sourced filter used on other SCs. It is being run by JG, who loves things OEM, and Cocopops amongst others on their SC cars so should be a straight replacement. I'm sure, but can't confirm, it'll fit in the side pod also.

It can be removed, cleaned and re-used

As for superior filtration, I'd suggest you check the ITG website for info to compare directly against the Cosworth filter ( I have no idea what filtration properties that filter has). Personally I've used ITG lots before, and never had any problems - never heard bad stuff about them either.

Maybe JG or Lee (coco) can confirm the side pod fitment?

HTH,

G
