All, We now have a solution!!! After a lot of trial and error we have a graphite gasket that fits and seals well and is a viable alternative to the oem seal. Thanks for those who helped with the testing, I have pm `d those who expressed an interest and posted the first batch up in parts for sale..... More batches to follow if there is an intetest...

Related to this, having just done an oil change and my housing lid and clamping ring came off in once piece as expected :angry2: .  I've had it in the vice and using the correct ring tool and huge socket but can't get the two to budge.  I've applied a moderate amount of heat but to no avail - the forces involved feel too much and the thing is probably going to explode.

 

To those that have successfully separated the two - how did you do it - *lots* of heat? lots of luck?
