I don't understand why folk don't just Locktight the threads and tighten well down, then forget about the bloody things for ever. That's all I did. Oh and don't over tighten the top it has an O ring so doesn't need swinging on. Like some bastard had done with mine  .

Ok, looks like the original trial set was made undersized somehow. New set has now been made and should be tested on the weekend.

I know the relief valve is easily removed but it surely serves a purpose otherwise Vauxhall wouldn't have fitted on this particular install otherwise. Bypassing it by removing it doesn't seem like the best idea, if you're retaining the standard oil cooler setup. It doesn't exist on the LSJ/B207/Z20NET engines with the better integrated cooler which this remote filter adaptor is designed for.

It only serves a purpose in the VX220 engine installation with their oil cooler setup.    The Vauxhall/Opel cooler is re-routed via a remote filter to the US adaptor connections.   Infact it has to be removed and the bottom hose connection plugged when using the US adaptor.   With your understanding of how things work, I would also have on sold this adaptor.   Perhaps some more research would be in order on your part.
Similar for me. I have a U.S. Adapter and was going to buy a remote filter and some hoses but I couldn't work out what needed to be done and what to do with the relief valve, if anything, and what to do with the oil pressure sensor. Did an intermediate oil change and just bought a 32mm socket but the 3/8 drive adapter has just sheared off as the filter is on so tight. Was going to try and split the filter from it's cap but haven't even managed to get it off yet, so fell at the first hurdle.😔 At least my engine mount inserts went in without issue.😊

There was a group buy on here for the oil filter spanners not long ago - might still be able to get one. That will make it easier to get the filter out.

Or you could ask to borrow one ;)

Ok, the new test gaskets were fitted on the weekend and fitted well with no initial leaks, so these look like a solution. Will know for sure next week once the car has been run a bit longer... Watch this space...

I will be in for a couple of pairs if possible. Have an oil leak from the oil filter sandwich plate. Cant believe Vauxhall have discontinued these and left us all out in the cold :-(

Would be perfect timing if they have survived the test and are ready for manufacture :)

Sorry for some reason I cant copy and paste the list. Wanted to add my name to it for x2 pairs!

Cheers

Andrew

No problem. Initial test looks good, but next week we should be able to confirm. Once available I'll start a new thread in the parts for sale section, and send a reminder via pm to all who have shown an interest

Losing a fair bit of oil. Can drive it but I think I've probably lost half a litre over the last five days.
