12v at the plug, and loom stripped back up to ECU, still no joy. No fuel pump prime at all. Car still fires with 12v directly onto brown relay. Anyone online with some wisdom?

This may sound daft but have you changed the fuse even if it looks ok?

do you have 12v at pin 86 brown wire - brown relay coil ?

do you have 0v at pin 85 - brown relay coil ?

Sometimes the pins are reversed, that does not matter, what is important is whether you have both the 12v and 0v feeds.

As the relay outputs work okay (when power is manually added to the relay coil and the fact that pin 86 12v feed comes directly from the relay 12v main supply - pin 30) that you are not getting the 0v from the ecu (green/pink wire)

The green/pink wire goes through pin 12 on X2 the blue plug behind the coolant tank (one half of the loom of doom), you should confirm it is coming from the ecu by tapping into the loom before it reaches the X2 plug from the ecu. This will prove if it's the x2 blue plug or the ecu.

can you confirm you have 12v at pin 86 and 0v for three seconds when the ignition is switched on (brown relay)

plus the relays are in the correct location, brown in the five wire holder and grey in the four wire holder

We have continuity on the GREY relay for 3 secs when the ignition is on to prime pump. This only happens when the brown relay has 12v applied from an external battery between 86 and 87. the brown relay, which has 87 and 87b is in the 5 pin. The grey relay, which has 87 and 87a is in the 4 pin.

so you have no 12v at the Brown relay then, you need to follow the Brown wire(s) from the 5 pin relay base back towards the battery, they join together and then should go to the plug and socket I posted on the previous page of this thread

Thanks Lee, Its a pain!! Tried 2 of each relay and cleaned and re-crimped all plugs.

Its starts with the extra power, but dies as soon as removed!! just hoping BOT can solve it!
