I must say I used to find Clarkson funny with his lack of political correctness and cynical viewpoints as I am probably on that spectrum somewhere, but I can't tollerate violence and status arrogance... from my perspective, people who use violence to solve problems lack self control and are a knuckle dragging chimp... and people who think their status/popularity entitles them to special treatment are just cnutpuffins.

Well in my day if you had a problem you didnt let teacher sort it out, you did it yourself. Get slapped, slap back, isnt that how it works? Oh no, thats not pc anymore, what a load of bollocks.

My guess is an American company will be after him to present a similar show without nanny hovering aroiund.

being the "car guy" in the office I am taking a lot of flack for this.. and I have never even said I supported him (and just for the record, you can't hit people and keep your job)....   just because I watch topgear I am a bigot and a racist and a homophobe and sexist ect ect supporter... All these opinions are formed by people that don't watch it I might add..    what the actual fcuk

Funny how all these doodahs come out of the woodwork now, when their PC overlords the BBC decide to deal with him. I work with one lefty twunt, who is commenting all the above on any Facebook page he can find. Twunt.

This is another situation with the BBC where there are no winners. Ultimately Clarkson has acted like a total bellend here and the Beeb had no other course of action they could have taken. The BBC are often accused of naval gazing and pandering to their lefty influences which are no doubt present within the organisation but I think this situation is a bit different to the last time they got rid of valuable talent in Jonny Ross and Russell Brand where it was a needless sacking just pandering to the swivel eyed loon brigade.

An alternative they could have offered was for Clarkson to make a full unreserved apology to the producer and take some kind of paycut for the next year. This is  better way of punishing him without having to destroy the show. All that will happen now is that the show will move to sky and he will quadruple the money he made from the show before causing more swivel eyed uproar. Clarkson must love the BBC to have stayed on it for so long as they must have refused many many offers to move to other channels before.

Although a Clarkson fan I think the show is bigger. Its the production, the story writing etc that makes it and if the producers have an opportunity here to either slot someone else in or refresh the whole show and lineup. The irony on the interweb is that theres a million strong petition to save his job which was preceded by the forums melting down at 9.01 every sunday saying how crap and samey the show had got. Perfect time to regroup and carry on making a great , fresher show IMO.

If you go into work tomorrow though and the most loud/opinionated guy you work with comes and punches you in the face. Would you not want him to be sacked?

Let's say it's after work, (say in a pub or food place), and I got into an argument and a bit of of a ruck with a workmate, then no I definitely wouldn't want him to be sacked. I wouldn't even want it reported. I'd wait until the day after when everyone was calm, get an apology (or give one if it was my fault) and go for a pint. Job done, sorted out like men used to.

Disagree. They were on location so still at work. Wouldn't have been an issue otherwise. Well, maybe a public order offence.

I never need to punch anyone as i am a well controlled person, BUT, someone trys to bully me or slaps me over some silly argument then they will get the CHAOS without restraint lol :borg:

I worked on building sites in the early 80s and if everyone who dished out a slap was fired then there would have been no workforce left. The guy should have just given what he had got and the whole thing forgotten about.

Dont get me started on bullying at school and how the teachers deal with it, or the made up naughty kids adhd nonsense,

time for my valium dear i need to go sleepy :D
