If you go into work tomorrow though and the most loud/opinionated guy you work with comes and punches you in the face. Would you not want him to be sacked?

Let's say it's after work, (say in a pub or food place), and I got into an argument and a bit of of a ruck with a workmate, then no I definitely wouldn't want him to be sacked. I wouldn't even want it reported. I'd wait until the day after when everyone was calm, get an apology (or give one if it was my fault) and go for a pint. Job done, sorted out like men used to.
This. Got the tee shirt. Then again I'm used to seeing blokes kick seven bells out of each other on a rugby league pitch with proper blood and snot then buying each other a beer an hour later  For May to describe it as nothing it was probably nothing and I suspect a bit of sh*t went both ways like always.

Disagree. They were on location so still at work. Wouldn't have been an issue otherwise. Well, maybe a public order offence.

But were they? There are many points which none of us have an insight into. They had left the filming location and were back at the hotel so maybe technically not at work. If they were deemed to be still at work then wouldn't the BBC have a duty to ensure that nourishment is available after working long unsociable hours. Maybe it was the producers job to arrange the food which he failed to do. It is also unlikely that the "prolonged" abuse was only one way. Why did the BBC management break employment law protocol by talking publicly about an internal employee investigation before the facts and findings were established. IMO 90% of the whole JC saga starting with the "eeny meeny miny mo" bit is down to the BBC DG being out to make a name for himself. The BBC nannies have had their day, time to dissolve the establishment now that media broadcasting is in the 21st century.

So if you have a bit of a ruck at work and are a tv personality you get the sack and the police investigate with a possibility of prosecution ? Hmm this should make televised rugby and football a little tame then 😀

But wasn't it reported that JC was three hours late for dinner as he'd been down the pub which is why the kitchen had closed?

Yep progress, the kids can't even play conkers and they have any altercations by text. Maybe that's what JC should have done sent a text saying you bastard I'm starving

I like that.  So true.

As for Clarkson being in trouble for all the crap he says, most of it is scripted, all of it gets 'OKed' buy producers, directors, script writers, the BBC standards board, so whoever says he insults everyone when he presents Top Gear is talking sh*t, yes he might think it (and so do many of the viewers no doubt) but all of it has been OKed by others, the blame shouldn't be on Clarkson, Hammond and May but the people above them that say 'talking about Truck Drivers murdering hookers is fine'

Still punching someone over not being able to have a hot meal at 10pm at night, what a nob, no need for it at all!  There's always a McDonald's open, most Drive Thru's are open 24hrs now, sure they could of found a car and gone and shown the local chavs what proper cars are like.
