I suggest always fitting these. As otherwise the intake can sit in a incorrect locationEdit: you also dont "need" them alignment bungs, they just make it easier.

I dunno why its like that. Once i start mapping it again i will see if its the same.
To be fair to Chris at this point when this power run had been done he hadent done any map alteration to the car So as far as a base start goes it's not that bad If you look carefully you can see a fair amount of knock retard which may or may not be from engineLooks like your timing is shot. Either due knock or due bad ignition map.

I have now fitted the top hat sleeve things and it hasn't made a difference. Worth a try though!
I'll give the brake cleaner a go tomorrow.

don't spray the stuff everywhere and spray only for a few seconds, it is flammable stuff , so allow it to evaporate before spraying the next bit
