Had a flat battery (probably an alarm fault) and its left it with the immobiliser not recognising the key. P1614 IIRC.  I'm hoping disconnecting the battery will solve it or I'll have to get it towed to the stealer.  They want 100 quid just to look at it before applying any fix.  Thieving gits.

if you need a new transponder  i have a brand new one and lots of key chips ,try programming a new chip before buying transponder though

Thanks bud.  I've left the battery disconected overnight.  Fingers crossed that does it but it might be the weekend before I get to tinker.

:o :o I'd have driven it to EliseParts today. If the MOT hadn't expired on Monday as I was waiting for a new ARB. I've driven 1,117 miles since the 1st May in the VX. Double the amount of miles driven in the daily.

To be fair, this weekend marks 12 months of having a dead VX for me. I'll just pipe down.

:D I've got to say, 1,100 of those miles were with your MK1 heater belching out every ounce of heat the engine could muster up, whatever position I had the dial set to. Not sure I could have faced that today and would probably have fallen foul of a sneaky speed trap on the way to EP if I'd been in the VX.

ha! you've had plenty of time to fit the MK2

(but before you do, send me a photo of the controller unit - I'd like to ensure it's the latest, potted version)

I know, I know. Every time I go into the garage, I see it sat there on a shelf, staring at me, ready to go.   Then I think about the misery involved with anything to do with the front compartment and conveniently remember I prefer the cold anyway.

A red with a hint of orange but everything down here was looking a little orange in the heat today. Luckily they didn't go with Calypso red, otherwise we'd all be fitting pink ARB's.

Saw it last night (thanks for wheels) and yes, it's looking a little sorry for itself mate. Not that I can talk. Paint looks good still though

Somehow I managed to get a black one, which I'm really rather happy with (well I originally had a red one, but gave it to Hark and replacement was black)

Exhaust should be fabricated by Monday, then i'll be able to make some progress, including getting rid of all the mould growing in the cabin
