For those fitting, I swapped to bolts (well, technically set screws) rather than the socket-head cap screws fitted originally to allow and slightly greater bolt torque to be applied without the risk of damaging the hex, and applied some thread lock during installation, and (touch wood) the mounts have remained tight / have not started to rattle again as yet.
And the middle setting is spot on for a road car on Exige suspension - no real negatives / compromises at all.

The bracket bolts are a stupid design. Why use a cap head rather than a hex...
Worst bit was getting the new bar back - it's fiddly holding the bar and trying to get the bolts back in. Made easier by cleaning all the bolts and threads up.
