That's very reassuring - thanks. Message to anyone considering them - buy quickly or you will not get them!

Thread resurrection - So new tyres fitted continental sports 3's with 195 on the front standard turbo alloys. Feedback - bloody awesome! Car steering feels absolutely alive with feedback and the weight of the steering has drastically improved. Car rides like I always wanted it to now probably helped by MMG's fast road geo? (Done prior to the tyre fitting though) Only draw back is that the car does tram lining a bit now but the trade off is a VXT that rides and handles just like an exige in the road (I also have the exige dampers) but retaining the standard alloys as I think they look the best. Result! Thought some on here might be interested? Cost was just over £400 using black circles for all four tyres incl fitting. Jon

the conti tyres are good, I run them on the boxster , but they are soft compound and don't last long and are really expensive for 265/35/18, I have switched fronts to BS potenza re002.

Hello Sizetenboots. Yes they may be soft but since me last RE040 tyres only wore 2mm in their life time I don't see it will be a problem with the VX? It doesn't seem to wear front tyres at all due to the weight of the front end... Big improvement over stock and thought it may help those looking for a solution with OEM alloys 👍👍

FYI

I fitted Eagle F1 Asym 2 225/45R17 tyres to the back of my VX last week, I have to say, what a difference in grip levels, especially in the wet, at points where the Bridgies would have easily let go, the F1 was nowhere near the limit.

Very impressed.

Problem is that you cannot get matching treads on the F1 fronts and they are also original directional treads where the rears are aysymetrical. Not ideal on a performance car. But I agree that the F1 is a good tyre as I have used these on my daily.

yeah i know, ideally I'd like the tyres the same, more from aesthetics side to be honest, but My MOT was next day and I had little choice :)

Just pleased with them and I'll get over different front tyres as I drive :)

Had a good run last Sunday and after 3 years off the road, its amazing how quickly muscle memory comes back and it feels so natural again :)

Love these cars :)
