Thanks, just finished tiger seal, I put new foam tape around it and it looks a lot better now with the silver indicator bulbs.

Could you write down the list of grids, material and sanding time used in the order you feel is optimal? (skipping what did not work)

Since this thread has been resurrected.... On my first VX I resealed the rear lights, but didn't do any major polishing of the lenses. I noticed that some of the lenses had tiny cracks inside the plastic which were only visible from certain angles. I have noticed these cracks on my current VX as well. This kind of puts me off any major polishing effort on my lenses. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any way of getting rid of these, short of changing the lenses?

IMO these are fatigue cracks. I suspect it's either poor moulding or they've been resealed using clamps. Once the glue sets and the clamps are removed the lenses are permanently braced where they were clamped leading to fatigue. I've also seen cracks in the uv coating used to protect the lenses. The former requires new lenses, the latter needs a sand and recoat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

On hols at the minute, will see if I can get them to show up in a photo when I get back. Since I have seen them on multiple lenses on more than one car I would be surprised if no-one else had seen them. To me they look like stress cracks within the plastic itself. They are only visible from a certain angle and/or light.

Haha :D generally interested in seeing them though as they may be the same cracks I'm used to seeing.

Well I am back off hols and have taken a few photos. My rear lenses look pretty much OK, but the fronts are not so good. Note that on the photos the scratches look like surface ones, but they seem to be below the surface as I can't feel them when I rub the lens:-

They're not the cracks I was thinking of. They look like the cracks I currently have iny rear lights which are not repairable as it looks deeper than the protective layer. I'm not sure what causes these cracks, looks stress related to me, like they have been hit.

Nuts on the rear lights can be over tightened.

I have a set lying around with horible cracking due to that.

That makes sense. Another thing on my list of jobs. Low priority however. Although these are front lights.

There are some on my project thread. I don't want to repost a photo as it may upset someone :D
