Oh dear.

Can a towbar be fitted to an Evora 400? Would make an awsome roadtrip story me thinks.

I'm doing a road trip next year, this thread has finally persuaded me. Probably May/June time, rather than August.

trip looks awesome need to do something like this next year  Joe ;-)

Looks great but for me there would have to be a couple of trackdays (Spa+Red Bull Ring?) chucked in to justify taking the VX rather than the audi.
Chris that sounds good to me how about zandvoort ,spa, ring?

Lets see what track day dates become available next year and see if that can be fitted around a sightseeing trip.

Stopped for fuel and fodder. About half way to Reims. Both cars going well at the moment...

And here is a pic of a stalk.

Got to Reims. My car has never been driven so fast for such a prolonged period. Didn't miss a beat. French motorways at night are almost worth the bastard peage! Sciatica is now playing up though and I've lost my Naproxen which was clearly doing a good job of suppressing the pain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

24hr pharmacy in Reims centre got some big ass ibuprofen and things are calming down. The pitchers of beer in the Sherlock English pub staffed by French people wearing kilts is also helping :P

We nearly fcuked up again with the hotel. After a 10hr drive we pulled into a layby and booked through Expedia into the central Reims Ibis cos it was £30 cheaper. Turned up at 11.30pm and were greeted by a desk clerk with a familiar blank look... We'd only gone and booked the wrong date again. Who does that twice?? Fortunately he was good enough to swap the booking for a few more quid!

Then this morning we went to book a Chunnel ticket... not one place on any trains today. Sometimes this winging approach to travelling bits you right on the arse. Fortunately (again) we managed to scrape onto a ferry which is where I'm currently sat.

It's been an incredible experience, never to be repeated. I've got to marry the woman I love soon and to be fair she's been incredibly understanding about me buffering off first to Zandvoort then on this trip. I owe her some time and attention. So the car is going to get parked up in my dad's garage for the time being. I've kinda had my fill of it for now.

Aurevoir France, I've kinda fallen for the place.

Cheers for sharing Neil. If you could pick one drive from your trip, which would it be?

We were just asking each other the very same thing. Rich's is pulling up at Paul Ricard for our first track day. Mine has to be the drive from Lake Como up to the Alps. That scenery has been burned into my retina. Only spoiled slightly by breaking down on top of a mountain :D But it's really hard to pick anything cos the whole thing was epic. In the truest sense of the word. I'm gonna miss waking up with the sole objective of driving to another stunning destination. It's kind of addictive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Alps and Pyrenees are awesome, I must have been there for something like 100 weeks (ie total of 2 years!) of holiday in my life. No point in me taking my VX as I'd end up pottering about at 20 MPH gawping at the views!

This has been such a brilliant thread, the best of the year and essential reading several times every day wondering what's going to happen next!  Well done both of you and thanks for the pleasure you have given so many of us!

We live on a spot height with Pyrenees right across our southern view and as Nev says, they are epic!  Do hope you will all come this way next time.  Fantastic roads, fantastic castles and history and nowadays the best wine in France!

Neil, I know the Frolic clashed with the Euro meet that HH and myself have just attended but you may wish to think about the Euro Speed meet next year. Some of the roads and scenery we unbelievable in an area that I would never have visited had it not been for this event. We are now at Lake Como & looking forward to our drive to Grindelwald on Tuesday via the Gottard, Furka and Grimsel passes.
