I, as the culprit, have to admit I know what you are saying, but it is the thing about eBay's jungle rules : some buyers never show up, some sound dodgy, some don't go to inspect the vehicle and rush-bid in the last ten seconds (like this once)... At the end of the day, the buyer decides, it is not an official, hammer-down auction ( where bid-rushing isn't a thing) so one remains free to do whatever they wish with what they are selling.
I do agree that it is not the best practice to spread around, but if we look at the lack of gentleman-ry on eBay... I think this was relatively harmless ?
Also I am very happy to get LY36. Expect crazy tinkering in the months to come.
And it did happen to me with an S1 a couple of years ago involving Will B. I related the story on here then and yesterday. None of you outraged people were outraged then
I only read your story today and it doesn't change my view. It is ourageous that it happened to you but that doesn't mean that you should perpetuate and encourage the practice. Selling on ebay is always going to be a risk so if you need to attain a certain price on an item'to pay the bills' then list it as a 'buy-it-now' or advertise elswhere (on here for example?) at a set price you want to achieve. And honour the deal.
