Ha ha, I thought you wern't going to go mad on this car?!   GL with twin charging, looking fwd to seeing how you set it up.   Did you not of just using a twin scroll turbo instead of the Garret - probably loads of torque by 3500 RPM I would imagine, if you extend the RPM range to say 8000 that gives you a viable 4000 RPM gear change range which is plenty (way more than more street cars anyway).

https://zzperformanc.../zfr-turbo.html

I'd be interested in one of these if I was going this route (in 7163 spec) - full bolt on if used with a basic K04 exhaust manifold and fittings.. In fact, with a fully 'built' 2.4L motor and good boost control, I'm not sure why you'd want / need a SC and the complication of a restrictive intake manifold.. Which is probably the conclusion the 'mericans came to, hence the lack of TC builds..

He's a very capable chap, I'm sure part of the reason for him trying twin charging is simply because the challenge of it attracts him.

Modern turbos are so capable these days, particularly if you have an engine that has a wide RPM range and are mapped sensibly (ie killing the "natural" torque in the spool up mid range). If anyone drove mine without knowing they'd think it was an NA - no joke.

Nev are you on the same ecu setup as GeorgeBC, the reason i asked is after driving his i was very impressed in the delivery of his power and was expecting a lot worse from whats been said about the stage 4 + turbo traditional setups

Absolutely, as a 'challenge' or one-off, its an admirable aim. As you say though, turbo tech and engine control systems have moved on so much since the days when TC was a viable approach to addressing the significant response issues high BHP / L engines suffered from.

A new A20NFT engine with just an upgraded turbo will deliver the same without having to remortgage the hoose.. :D

Yep, we have the same, though mine is a newer model I think so I have TC capability and a few other bells and whistles. Also I have an extra mappable ECU/module to retain my 70mm Porsche ETB.

Yes and no lol.....lots has been done to the car but nothing in relation to the twin charge system. All concentration is in getting the car ready for the 1st javelin Sprint at snet in a few weeks. This will most likely be the cars first shakedown after quite a few upgrades! I then need to decide whether to see what this current engine will take before it goes pop....or start collecting parts for a new one already 😣
