To keep it simple and in .org fashion lets make a list

  1. sford - Version 1?
  2. Jetdotter - Version 2
  3. NOSBandit - Version 2
  4. Solid 5/10 - Version 2
  5.
  6.
  7.
  8.

Eight sets is probably the max I can manufacture this time.

Why this high price difference between the 2 versions ? I was thinking version 1 but with this 1500 SEK difference and the fact that you can still use a standard caliper, i have to think twice about it...

It all comes down to how time consuming they are to manufacture.
Version 1 takes roughly 2.5-3 times longer in the cnc-machine, there are more tools to set up, a longer first part run in and so on compared to version 2.

The "design purpose" for version 2 was a bit different, as we asked Tonie if it was possible to design his upright with more hub offset for lower track use, with less effort on weigh saving as the focus was on strength and a bit easier manufacturing.

For those interested, this is the similar Elise Parts hub. Huge saving over them.

For me, version 1 looks nicer but the price difference and because I'm a tart and run the car low, think it's going to be version 2 for me.

  1. sford - Version 2
  2. Jetdotter - Version 2
  3. NOSBandit - Version 2
  4. Solid 5/10 - Version 2
  5.
  6.
  7.
  8.

That should not be any problem, I think Vocky had that configuration on these uprights.

I'm still undecided....
Would the version 2 be fine at 125-130 mm front with 17 inches front wheels ( and similar to OEM tyre perimeter) ?
Should we aim to get an horizontal lower wishbone ?

If you decide to go 125mm version 1 would suit you perfect, OEM 140mm minus 17.5mm = 122.5 so very close to factory settings.

That was my first thougth... Then i realised that Elise S1 is also at 140 mm with 15 inches wheels ( minus 25.4 on radius if you don't consider the slight difference of tyre height) ...
But anyway, i have also to take into account my shock length and travel so i will keep version 1.

Cool, then we have a full list. Machining will start end of December, looking at delivery by the end of February (usually takes some time with the surface treatment).

I´ll keep you updated.

A 2-pot for the rear with 38mm pistons would be nice (moving from 60/40 to 58/42), together with Steffen's spot caliper .

The 2-pot OEM AP caliper on the back kinda messes up the brake ratio for those of us not in need of big fancy 4-pots in the front  .
