Did Pete buy the VXT that was written off when being PDI'd? Can't remember who it was, but someone on here had their car written off when it was being valeted prior to collection. That would explain the date, and the history on the car.

I know about this one ;) & it wasn't Pete's. The car your refering to actually had about £3k's worth of damage done to it before it was registered, the term write off was a little strong. It wasn't delivered to it's original ordering customer, but registered, used for three months & sold as secondhand to somebody who knew exactly what had been done to it & was very happy with the price at the time.

Hi,

I saw this car on Autotrader and wondered whether you could give me some information about it?
I see the advert says it's on "VCAR" - what does this mean?
Also, how many owners etc?

Thanks,

Jim

Lovely, all we've done is discuss its history to see whether it was a potential bargain or not or whether it was a lemon  If thats his attitude then I wouldn't buy anything off him, let alone a car thumbsup

I had concerns about the price of the car and therefore the reasons for that price. But the deciding factor that put me off travelling to look at it, was the guy himself, when I spoke to him on the phone. :-)

I've found out about this car. The car was written off when it was driven into a telegraph pole after it was repossessed. It has been rebuilt using an NA as a donor car. In some parts they've used non-standard components. The engine, for example, is from a 1.4 Corsa. The story goes that when it was parked at the bodyshop a tramp took a dump in it. It's also been vandalised on the nearside (the local kids have scratched "Cuntbubble Watson" into the door and rear clamshell for some reason). That's why it's so cheap. Perhaps you should be watching all of us, eh John? Twat.

Oh dear he is an aggressive individual, plenty of them in the car trade. I'm not defending him in any way but he is selling on price. At that sort of money he doesn't feel as though he has to answer any questions from anyone because it will sell anyway, no need to be rude though. I recently had a VXT for sale on Autotrader and had all sorts of 'anorak' types on the phone who wanted to arrange 'extended' test drives it can get really frustrating, John stop trying to retail cars you haven't got the patience.

Agreed. However, if you can't be arsed then you just don't reply rather than scrawl out some semi literate rant in all caps. (Didn't someone here describe that as the equivalent of writing in green crayon?)
