Do u think I can weld the secondary pipe onto the flexible part of my Milltek onto the race cat, all in one piece? Seem like a good way to increase the length of the secondary pipes, eliminating the flange?

Yes that would be good, I only reused it to make fitting easier, imagine trying to bolt up the downpipes with the cat/flexy section attached, remember the vectra's tight engine bay picture

Weapon R with longer secondary pipes, making the 90° turn and joining before entering the main cat. Seem a better solution but require more thinking....

Three tricky parts:
  • Making a smooth 90° turn
  • Providing equal length on the secondary pipes
  • Providing; flexible joint, 90° bend, joint 2-1 all in a very short length

A normal performance exhaust is designed in a 1+4 and 2+3 manner, whereas the Weapon R has a 1+3 and 2+4 layout. The firing order is 1-3-4-2 in the otto process total 720° 1 at 0° 3 at180° 4 at 360 ° 2 at 540° 1+4 give gas pulses with a 360° interval (0 to 360) 2+3 give gas pulses with a 360° interval (180 to 540) The Weapon R manifold provide 180° between the pulses in each secondary line. I sent a mail to Weapon R:s research dep, and they soon replied: "THE CHOICE IS BECAUSE THE EXHAUST CAN USE THE SCAVANGING EFFECT 1 FIRES , THEN 3 FIRES , BOTH FOLLOWING ON AFTER EACH OTHER, AND SAME FOR THE 4 , THEN THE 2. Chris Wanstrath 180 Sylvester Road South San Francisco, CA 94080 650-877-8280 650-877-8290 Fax WWW.WEAPON-R.COM " Well, well…it fits it weighs less its practically free, and it provide a much improved flow, so I am not too worried.

Don't forget you can buy ready made stainless bends or straight pipe, I had to get a 65mm 90 degree bend for mine. So you can remake the 2-1 section any shape you want :D

I'm still trying to convince my wife she needs a vx220, she wants a :9mm: TT . Once people realise the performance gain the wR is going to be popular. But then again it needs an engineer to fit at the moment, perhaps someone will mass produce the downpipe, now thats an idea ;)

Not a TT
At least get a drivers car. a S2000 is probably most fun/£ after a VX. (I know, I have had two of them)

I´ll see if I at least can produce a (Autocad) drawing of my finished downpipe once it is ready. thumbsup

U prolly need:
  • Improved inlet manifold: home-made or dBilas
  • Improved exhaust manifold: Weapon R a good example
  • New cams 256°
  • Exhaust sytem with race cat
  • Ported head
  • Remap with 7200 rpm limit
  • A 68 mm "SC crate engine" throttle body
