Now you bot me thinking.... The 150bhp remap - what will that give me? Standard VX NA 0-60 is 5.6 seconds and about 140bhp. Will I really notice that 10bhp? I guess the remap will also get around the flat spot at 3K...?

It'll give you 150bhp ;)

Anyway, if you're interested in 0-60 times then it'll get there quicker as with the raised rev limit 60 comes up in 2nd gear, rather than needing 3rd. You won't really notice 10bhp though, just that the car's much more flexible.

Forgot.. Do you have a map for just an Induction kit ? or should I wait until I get the full S2 ?

Having a S2 then updrading later to S4 possible? or is it an all in one go deal ?

Si

Not for just the induction kit, the stage 1 was fine with that on its own. All the maps are upgradeable as you mod further for no extra charge thumbsup

Would you noice 10bhp? Not really. Will you noitce how much faster the car is, how much quicker through the gears it is and knock .5 of a second off your 0-60 time (higher rev limit means it hits 60mph in 2nd and not 3rd) yes, I think so :D

Hi John, At the moment I have a Milltek backbox and the pre-cat removed. Do you have a map that would be suitable for this? Also how much can you supply the Milltek race cat for? Cheers Tim

Stage 1 (ECU remap).

Price includes all the diagnostic work

NA is £250. Offer Price £199 150bhp approx
VXT/VXR is £499. Offer price £399 240bhp approx

Stage 2 (ECU remap and full Milltek exhaust).

Price includes all the diagnostic work and full fitting

NA is £1450. Offer price £1199 160bhp approx
VXT/VXR is £1899. Offer price £1599 250bhp approx

Is it 240bhp for vxt ecu remap? Was looking at a superchips dealer in Scotland and they said there remap was 220bhp approx?

Does the ecu remap give noticable performance increase? Also how much is the torque improved by?

Doh! :beat: soooo tempting! And you're in Bucks no? Have a Miltech & should really get a remap, but priority is trying to get wider front tyres past the missus & the insurers. How about some bargain alloys?

stupid question - does the remap affect insurance? how do they know? if I have a std NA with std exhaust - can I expect 150bhp with a remap?! what happens to the fuel and tyre economy!! sounds sad I know but I have just done a set of rears in 6.5k - of which 4 were work's motorway miles!!!! hmmm 150bhp in a gokart!

Yes, you need to tell your insurance company.. if you were involved in a major accident and they suspected foul play then they would go over the car with a fine tooth comb. In todays age of ECUs and computer controlled everything the first thing they'd check would be that the ECU contents were standard Assuming its not major leagues different from the old AMD maps then based on my old Stage 3 AMD'd car then MPG was identical to standard Not sure how you think that tyre economy would be any different ?

Out of interest what is the rev limit raised to on the Thorney NA remap, is it the same in every gear and does anybody know what it does to engine longevity?

Raised from 6250 to 6800, with a soft cut starting at 6650 I think. That's in all gears but I doubt you'd pull it in 5th, even 4th will be a struggle.

As for longevity, I can't see an issue. This engine in a Vectra revs higher than 6250 afaik and after all, it's no K series.
