Does this thing have the same SC as the one at Hock this year?

Yep. He lives about 15mins away from me and, coincidentally, is selling – his was in the paper this week for a couple of K less and has done 12,000km – not as good a buy and chrome orange disappointed me when i saw it firsthand. Also, mine has no central locking to fail like his did – nice, simple drving machine like a VX N/A thumbsup

I am sure you wont be pussy footing around like him when you get yours on the track, but saying that you will be driving a 40k car against a 10k car  :o , will that alter your driving style  poof probably not  ;)

Knowing me as you do, I think you know the answer to that one! :D thumbsup

God your going to be tearing your hair out waiting for the weather to warm up out there now  :P

Probably not much left on top after the accident – nevermind!
Actually, it is still gorgeous autumn weather here – but I can't drive with my injured hand for a few weeks and then they'll probably ban me. But, every cloud has a silver lining

>read my post here<

Due to the recent event, the way was cleared for this dream machine – just! My wife is not too happy about it at the mo – lot of dosh for a boy's toy

:) Glad you all like it – somehow thought you might... In fact, I think I've thought of a way to finance it – you can all pay to sit in it at Hock. :D Don't know if anyone would risk a taxi ride – but, hey, it's got all the safety equip.

WOW, dare I ask what the performance stats are?

Normal road Exige with S/C

0–100kmh 4.3secs.
Vmax 260kmh
265bhp
253Nm (4000-7000rpm)
900kg

Cup has less luxury bits and pieces, but heavy rollcage, extinguisher, etc. so weighs in at 908kg + 16.5kg for the S/C.

Nice powercurve:

Thought I'd add this thought that struck me.

Always thought the Elise S2 was "prettier" but had too many "decorations" in comparison to the squared-off, more controversially styled VX. Purebob once posted a very appropriate Penelope Pitstop car image, implying that this was the styling inspiration for the Elise.

I preferred the simpler, more functional style of the Exige S2, but it still seemed a little feminine in its character, or at least feline – like a nimble pussycat, rather than the cheerful little terrier character that the VX evokes more for me.

Well, speaking from the passenger seat experience (can you believe buying such a pricey car without even driving one? Well, it's new territory for me anyway), you can forget pussycat.

When this thing wakes up and gets up to that big, fat, high torque plateau around 4,00rpm with the 'charger shoving the fuel in and the sportsexhaust gruffly resonating as it absolutely hurls forward and positively devours the road in front of it – this gave me strong Begal tiger feeling – Imnotworthy threateningly fast and awesomely powerful. New depths of character there that are perhaps belied by the Tonka Toy looks.

And the way it stops – even compared to my Pagid-wearing Speedy – eyeballs out on stalks job thumbsup

Not that I'm enthusiastic or anything :D

What can I say, other than poof poof poof poof poof :D OK, I'm hugely jealous as well. The only problem with it really is that fact that the S1 Elise name for that colour was so much better - Scandal Green B) There's really nothing negative I could say about that car. I love the colour and the styling, and the performance and handling really goes without saying thumbsup

All I can say is WOW! probably the only car i'd think of changing the VX for at the minuite (if i could ever afford it). In one of the best colours, along with gunmetal and chrome orange, i used to walk past final inspection every day and drool at these. Does the supercharger conversion swich the cams earlier in the rev range like the lotus 240R?

I asked that question too. Not seen it in black and white and haven't bothered asking the firm who supply the superchargers to the Lotus dealer, but it looks like the ECU has been re-mapped. Look at the blue power curve back up the page in this thread – looks a more even increase at 6,000 rpm than stock... certainly goes!

Had to weigh up comfort and safety – couldn't afford both.

2005 Krypton Green road-legal Exige Cup (done 1,550 miles, never been raced) with:

Standard Cup equip. (full roll cage, plumbed-in fire extinguisher, kill switch, Accusump, LSD, Öhlins, 4-points, etc.).

Bemani 265bhp supercharger with intercooler

Sintered clutch

Agreed I try it for a season and we could always fir aircon if it was unbearable.

I

Congrats! Those specs are perfect. I'm so jealous thumbsup

That torque curve is impressive. Well, it's not really a curve, is it? More of a plateau (looks like Alice Rock). The Bemani MX-5 conversion I drove was rather underwhelming, but they hav hit the nail on the head with this one. Nice.

thumbsup "Awesome" thumbsup The colour would look naff on an ordinary car, but just right on this and fitting for a motor that deserves such attention from on-lookers
